{"id":26503,"date":"2019-11-28T09:08:17","date_gmt":"2019-11-28T07:08:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev.radioislam.org.za\/wordpress\/2019\/11\/28\/listen-samsung-doubles-multi-million-rand-bursary-programme\/"},"modified":"2019-11-28T09:08:17","modified_gmt":"2019-11-28T07:08:17","slug":"listen-samsung-doubles-multi-million-rand-bursary-programme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radioislam.org.za\/a\/listen-samsung-doubles-multi-million-rand-bursary-programme\/","title":{"rendered":"[LISTEN] Samsung Doubles Multi-Million Rand Bursary Programme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News &#8211; 28-11-2019<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FaizelPatel143\" rel=\"alternate\">Twitter: @FaizelPatel143<\/a>)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Samsung South Africa is leaving an indelible mark on the education sector by announcing it will continue its bursary programme for 2020.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At its \u2018Empowering Tomorrow\u2019 event held in Johannesburg on Wednesday, Samsung announced that it has increased its bursaries to students of the University of Pretoria, North-West University, University of Johannesburg and Gauteng City Region Academy (GCRA), a branch of the Gauteng Department of Education responsible for promoting skills development in the Gauteng City region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Following its initial investment of R7 million in 2019, Sung Yoon, President and CEO of Samsung Africa, revealed that the company would award another R7 million for 2020 &#8211; In total, Samsung will be investing R14 million.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The investment forms part of Samsung\u2019s wide-ranging efforts to uplift learners and students in the country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking to Radio Islam, Yoon who is passionate about education says the dedication of the students have inspired Samsung to continue its support for education in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cIt\u2019s just not financial support. How we can support continuously.
