This will also remove heat stains on stainless steel cutlery&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Stainless steel worktops and sinks can have streaks on them after cleaning and can be removed by rubbing a little baby oil or olive oil on them&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>When you change your vacuum cleaner bag, put in a fabric Softener sheet. Every time you vacuum you will freshen the Room at the same time&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you have a slow running drain in the bathroom, chances are hair is a major culprit. Try using a hair removing lotion such as Nair down the drain. Pour some down the drain and leave it 10-15 minutes, then flush with hot water&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For a brass &amp; copper cleaner, mix 2 tablespoons salt, 1 tablespoon lemon juice and 1 tablespoon vinegar. Rub with sponge and let dry. Then rinse with hot water, drying with a soft cloth.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>While mopping the floor, add 2 tsps of salt to the water to keep flies away.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To shine brass articles, rub then with a mixture of 2 tsps of vinegar and 11\/2 tsps washing powder. Wash in running water, dry them with a cloth and watch them sparkle.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To remove rust stains from your baking trays, rub with a peeled potato dipped in a mild abrasive like baking soda or salt.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To bring a sparkle to metal fittings in bathrooms, taps, etc., apply a thin Vim paste all over, keep for 1 hour and wash off with warm soapy water and scrubber. Finally wash with plain water and wipe dry with a clean absorbent cloth.<\/p>\n<p>If gloves are inconvenient wear 2 old washed socks while doing chores which are harsh on the hands, like car washing, dish-washing, scrubbing, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Save old toothbrushes for quick cleaning of those corner and grooves which are difficult to clean with larger brushes. Egg. Bottles, bathroom corners, tile joints, engraving on metals, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Place a tsp. of bicarb of soda in a corner of the fridge in a small crucible. This will keep smells of foods in the fridge from permeating each other.<\/p>\n<p>Soak burnt pans with a weak solution of domestic ammonia and water. After an hour rub with used lemon peels dipped in salt. Wash with soap for a clean, clean pan.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Wipe the blades of greasy knives with a peeled lemon. Wash under running water. The greasiness will disappear.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Rinse white clothes in water to which some alum powder is added, for better whites<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Immerse rusty curtain rings in hot vinegar for two hours. Wash off with water and wipe dry. The rings will look new<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Remove yellow food stains from tablemats, etc. by applying a paste of detergent and water to the stained areas and keep in the sun for an hour. Wash like your other laundry.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To clean the inside of a microwave oven without scratching the surface, sprinkle baking soda on a damp cloth and gently wipe off the food stains.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Clean your gas stove with an old nylon stocking dipped in undiluted dish washing liquid.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To remove the &quot;egg smell&quot; from crockery, rub it with used tea bags or rinse with a little vinegar.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Hand washing Dishes: Boost the performance of your hand dishwashing liquid detergent. Add 2 heaping tablespoons of Baking Soda to the dish water to help cut grease and food on dishes, pots and pans. For cooked-on foods, let them soak in the Baking Soda\/detergent water first, then use dry Baking Soda on a damp sponge or cloth as a scratch less scouring powder.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Cleaning Tile Floors: Baking Soda dissolves the dirt and grime from a tile floor quickly and easily. Mix 1\/2 cup Baking Soda in a bucket of warm water, mop and rinse clean for a sparkling floor.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To remove stains from a thermos flask, take 1-tsp. vinegar, a few crushed eggshells and a cup of warm water. Let this stand in the flask for a while. Then wash it out.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To remove candle wax from wooden surfaces, soften the wax with a hairdryer and then wipe off.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Curtains and upholstered furniture can be vacuum cleaned once a week.<\/p>\n<p>Removing rings from tables &#8211; White rings left on tables from wet or hot dishes or glasses can be removed by rubbing a thin paste of salad oil and salt on the spot with your fingers, letting it stand an hour or two, then wiping it off.<\/p>\n<p>Restoring sponges &#8211; Give sponge&#39;s new life by soaking them in cold saltwater after they are washed.<\/p>\n<p>Removing blood stains &#8211; Soak the stained clothing or other cloth item in cold saltwater, then launder in warm, soapy water and boil after the wash. (Use only on cotton, linen or other natural fibres that can take high heat.)<\/p>\n<p>Cleaning fish tanks &#8211; Rub the inside of fish tanks with salt to remove hard water deposits, then rinse well before returning the fish to the tank.
