Being high in nutritional value, lettuce offers its users a number of health and nutrition benefits<\/p>\n<p>&bull; The juice of lettuce, when mixed with rose oil and applied to the forehead, can help ease headache and even aid a sound and restful sleep.<br \/>&bull; Lettuce, being high in dietary fiber, aids digestion and is good for those suffering from constipation.<br \/>&bull; Lettuce has been associated with reducing the risk of cancer, heart disease, stroke and cataracts. Roll the leaves in several layers of paper towels or a clean kitchen towel, seal in a plastic bag, and store in the hydrator (&quot;crisper&quot;) of your refrigerator for up to 1 week. Lettuce stored this way stays crisp and wilt-free, since it is kept hydrated by the slightly moist towels, but basically dry by the towels soaking up excess moisture.<br \/>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;You can often recover wilted lettuce by soaking it in ice cold water with a few drops of lemon juice or vinegar. Place it in the fridge for about an hour and it should be much more crisp.<br \/>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Store lettuce with a paper towel and it will last longer. The paper towel will absorb moisture. If you are storing lettuce in a container, line the bottom of the container with a layer of paper towels<br \/>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Wash leaf lettuce in cold water, drain well, and then store in a zip lock bag with a paper towel.
