Esteemed Islamic scholar Ml Sulaiman Moola says one of the qualities that are intrinsic to human anatomy inherent to our temperament and part of our makeup and composition is envy and jealousy.<\/p>\n

Ml Moola was rendering some advices during his Spiritual Ladder series.<\/p>\n

Ml Moola says there is a fine line between envy, which emanates positive energy and jealousy, which radiates negative energy.<\/p>\n

\u201cEnvy allows us to up our act. It safeguards us against stagnation, \u2018I look at others, I envy him, I need to intensify my efforts.\u2019 Jealousy on the other hand, is negative, it\u2019s toxic, it\u2019s poisonous, it\u2019s venomous. Why? Because my aim is to curtail the growth of others.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ml Moola says in the last chapter of the Qur\u2019an in Surah Naas, Allah impresses upon us to seek refuge in Him from the jealous person.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeek refuge in Allah from the jealous when he starts venting his jealousy. So the ayat releases a hint that to a certain extent, envy and jealousy will remain within us. We are creatures designed like this. It only becomes repugnant, deplorable, detestable when we start venting it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ml Moola narrated the famous hadith in Sahih Muslim when slander was levelled at Aisha (RA), the beloved wife of Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh).<\/p>\n

\u201cShe could not reconcile how people could say such nasty, obnoxious, bizarre and ludicrous things about her. Ummi Rummaan (mother of Hazrat Aisha [RA]) said: \u2018oh my daughter, you are a beautiful woman, you are loved by the greatest man, you are obviously going to attract envy.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Ml Moola says the scholars write that jealousy is an evil trait that harms the person who harbours jealousy more than your enemy and your foe.<\/p>\n
