Twitter: @FaizelPatel143<\/a>)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\nWell-respected and esteemed Islamic scholar Ml Sulaiman Moola says people sometimes trespass the limits when they want to effect change in themselves and in others in the quest for goodness and pursuit of reformation.<\/p>\n
Ml Moola was rendering a dose of naseeha during his weekly Spiritual Ladder series that aims to educate and advise the Muslim ummah on the critical aspects of Islam as commanded by Allah and beautifully emphasised by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in his Sunnah (prophetic traditions).<\/p>\n
Ml Moola quoting a narration says Imam Shafi (RA) said that if someone observes a mistake or folly of another person, he should rather advise and alert him rather than chastise or rebuke him in public.<\/p>\n
He says Islam is a religion that impresses upon us wisdom, tactfulness and diplomacy.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo instead of lovingly addressing our child, or our friend or our colleague or spouse by saying abandon the wrong, desist from the vice, embrace the virtue, we say nasty things: \u2018you know you, you are going to die an evil death, for all I care, Allah will never forgive you.\u2019 Wow, who are we to make those statements?\u201d<\/p>\n
Ml Moola also stressed about a narration in the Qur\u2019an in Surah Nisa (Verse 16) where Allah speaks about the reformation and repentance of the adulterer and adulteress.<\/p>\n
\u201cAllah says if they have repented and reformed than move on. Do not taunt them, do not insult them. How often in marital feuds when an argument comes up than one spouse starts taunting the other spouse about mistakes committed previously from which he or she has repented. This is completely evil and unacceptable.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ml Moola says while people should dislike the sin that\u00a0 a person commits, they should embrace the individual who committed the sin.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo the message is, let us not have this attitude of holier than though where we start passing judgment on others.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ml Moola says denying all the good of someone because of a single mistake, is like discrediting the merits of honey because of one bee sting.<\/p>\n
