one of the most effective home remedies to get rid of flies involves hanging clear plastic bags of water near outdoor entryways. This might sound like a ridiculous way to get rid of flies, but people who live on farms, and those who operate fruit stands use this home remedy to get rid of flies on a regular basis.<\/p>\n

Just get some apple cider vinegar pour some in a bowl put in about a tablespoon of dish detergent to break the surface tension of the vinegar and the lil buggers can't fly on and get away. Leave it out over night. You should catch most of em.

Hang a pine bough in the kitchen: flies dislike pine oil.

A bowl of vinegar in the kitchen will keep flies away as well as some mint leaves in a glass of water does the trick.

Keeping flies away is often a matter of cleanliness. Remove compost to the compost pile, and don't leave food uncovered. <\/p>\n
Invest in window screens and screen doors and encourage your children to close screen doors quickly when they enter or leave the house. <\/p>\n
Use flyswatters. Children enjoy this. Make it a contest to see who can swat the most. <\/p>\n
Encourage the spiders in your house: they eat flies. <\/p>\n
Hang pomanders on doors: citrus peel is a great repellent. <\/p>\n
Dust the bottoms of your trash cans with borax.<\/p>\n
