South Africans have experienced increased loadshedding in the last few weeks.<\/p>\n

But not to worry, it will soon be a thing of the past. Well\u2026Electricity, that is.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are not good at this whole \u2018keep the lights on thing\u2019…so we are closing up shop\u201d \u2013 Eskom Insider<\/p>\n

This shutdown of the electricity will be done in two phases:<\/p>\n

  1. 12 hours on, 12 hours off.<\/li>\n
  2. Nothing<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Coming up with such a complex exit strategy must\u2019ve taken hours of brainstorming and strategic planning. We managed to find someone who was part of the planning committee, Eskom Engineer Ugesi Cishiwe to shine some light<\/em> on the brilliant analytical thinking that went into the decision:<\/p>\n

    \u201cThe Sun is out in the day, so you don\u2019t need lights because the Sun provides the natural light\u2026so yaah\u2026that\u2019s about it\u201d – Ugesi Cishiwe<\/p>\n
