Cracked, dry and flaky heels look very unpleasant. They give a very rough and untidy look, which nobody wants to have. There are many reasons and causes for having cracked heels.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Causes of Cracked Heels:<br \/>Cracked heels are basically caused by dryness of the feet. But there are many other causes as well which cannot be ignored.<\/p>\n<p>&bull; Walking bare foot for quite a long time. Continued pressure on feet causes cracking of skin on heels. This may be due to <br \/>&nbsp;&nbsp; prolonged standing or over weight<br \/>&bull; Inactive sweat glands, which causes dryness.<br \/>&bull; Wearing uncomfortable shoes, or shoes with thin soles.<br \/>&bull; Having flat feet or certain diseases like eczema, psoriasis, etc also causes fissured heels. Curing Cracked Heels:<br \/>&bull; The foremost home remedy to cure cracked heels is to adopt a healthy weight and lifestyle.<br \/>&bull; Avoid wearing thin soled shoes and shoes with open backside.<br \/>&bull; Regularly use pumice stone bars for exfoliating\/removing the dead skin around heels.<br \/>&bull; Apply Moisturizing oil-based cream daily to the affected area. This may require more than one daily treatment. A cream that has <br \/>&nbsp;&nbsp; zinc oxide works very well.<br \/>&bull; A home remedy for cracked heels may be found in the addition of zinc and omega-3 fatty acids to your daily nutritional <br \/>&nbsp;&nbsp; regimen.<br \/>&bull; A regular foot bath and foot massage helps to keep the skin on heals healthy and soft.<br \/>&bull; Diabetic patients should immediately consult their physician if the fissures persist for a long time and show colour changes.<br \/>&bull; Soak your heels in lukewarm water and use a pumice-stone to scrub off dead skin to smooth the heels or use a foot scrub after <br \/>&nbsp;&nbsp; soaking the feet in lukewarm water. Apply a deep moisturizing lotion or Vaseline and put on the socks to cover it for sometime. <br \/>&nbsp;&nbsp; This method will protect the feet from excessive dryness.<br \/>&nbsp;&nbsp; You could also heat up some Coconut oil, add some wax into it and after cooling apply it onto your heels. Another solution is <br \/>&nbsp;&nbsp; to&nbsp; melt paraffin wax and mix it well with little mustard oil. Apply on the affected area of your heels. Wash it off in<br \/>&nbsp;&nbsp; the morning. Do this for 10 or 15 days and see the difference.<\/p>\n<p>YOUR EVERYDAY FEET CARE ROUTINE<\/p>\n<p>Feet maintenance is a part and parcel of your beauty treatment. Here are a few tips on how to make your feet look as fresh as possible.<\/p>\n<p>. To keep your feet smelling good and looking fresh dust some deodorizing talcum powder onto your feet every morning.<br \/>. You need to exercise your feet. Walking is a good form of exercise for the feet.<br \/>. When you get back from a long day, soak your feet alternatively in hot and cold water. Add some salt to this water.<br \/>. If your feet are itching, then apply some lemon juice and vinegar.<br \/>. Try massaging some onion juice between the toes. This will relieve itching and athlete&#39;s foot.<br \/>. When shopping for shoes, comfort is the operative word. Ill-fitting shoes which are too tight have really high heels and pointed <br \/>&nbsp; toes are largely responsible for the &#39;ill-health&#39; of your feet.
