Libya is touted to be the easiest route to Europe for Africans looking to create a new life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Radio Islam International spoke to Michelangelo Severgnini, an independent film and documentary maker. He focuses on the current crisis; African countries face searching for better living in other countries.<\/span><\/p>\n

Severgnini says he has been in contact with most Libyan migrants coming into Europe in the past few years.<\/span><\/p>\n

After receiving false information from the African Mafia about how life will be after their migration, their expectations were not expected. Once there, it is a different story.<\/span><\/p>\n

Migrants who pass through Libya to get to Europe have not made it to their destinations and get stuck in Libya, where they are once again sold, and some even end up in slavery.<\/span><\/p>\n

Many end up working but without remuneration, and when asking for their money, they are threatened and even sent away and are left on the streets to fend for themselves.<\/span><\/p>\n

Most governments were unaware of the undocumented migrants who had left the country, or their plight if they reached European shores.<\/span><\/p>\n
