{"id":572,"date":"2012-01-17T11:10:54","date_gmt":"2012-01-17T09:10:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev.radioislam.org.za\/wordpress\/2012\/01\/17\/the-beauty-secrets-of-using-gramchana-flour\/"},"modified":"2012-01-17T11:10:54","modified_gmt":"2012-01-17T09:10:54","slug":"the-beauty-secrets-of-using-gramchana-flour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radioislam.org.za\/a\/the-beauty-secrets-of-using-gramchana-flour\/","title":{"rendered":"The beauty secrets of using gram\/chana flour"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">There is more to chana or gram flour besides making bhajias or lagans.<br \/>It&#39;s a shampoo, face scrub and hair remover powdered into one.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from the above, chana flour or gram flour has many more uses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skincare<br \/>A complexion lightening mask<\/strong><br \/>Take four almonds with a teaspoon and a half of gram flour, a teaspoon of milk and four drops of lemon juice. Mix it and apply it on your face. Leave it on for the bleach to take effect.<br \/>Take lemon juice, mixed with gram flour, milk cream and honey for dry skin. Replace milk cream and honey with sandalwood powder and curd for oily to normal skin. Apply it on your face to ensure a clear complexion.<br \/>Add milk, rose water, carrot juice and cucumber juice to the above to remove freckles. Leave on for 15 minutes and rinse off.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A complexion revival mask:<\/strong><br \/>Mix together a teaspoon of gram flour with a pinch of turmeric powder, a few drops of lemon juice and half a teaspoon each of olive oil and milk. Apply it on your face. Remove after 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A face wash:<\/strong><br \/>Take a teaspoon each of turmeric powder, milk cream, sandalwood powder and chana flour. Use it daily.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Removing unwanted facial hair:<\/strong><br \/>Take a teaspoonful of gram flour and make a paste by mixing water in it. Apply it daily and scrub it off when dry.<\/p>\n<p>Whitening the knees, neck and hands:<br \/>Mix lemon juice and gram flour and apply it on the knees, hands and neck to whiten them.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A chana flour pack:<\/strong><br \/>Take one spoonful of chana flour, a pinch of turmeric (haldi), half a spoon of honey and half spoon of olive oil. Mix it well and apply.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A cooling mask:<\/strong><br \/>Take a spoonful of chana flour, two spoonfuls of curd. Mix well, and apply it on the face. Let it stay for half an hour and wash off.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For pimples:<\/strong><br \/>Add curd to gram flour to make a paste and apply it on the face.<br \/>Completely rub it off before it dries. Repeat every two days. This is also good for removing blemishes. Make curd out of skim milk for oily skin.<br \/>Warm some honey and add some chana flour to it. Apply this paste to your face. Wash with warm water after it dries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For blemished skin:<\/strong><br \/>Add cucumber juice to some chana flour to form a paste. Apply it to the face and wash off after it dries. This will also tighten the skin pores. Chana flour for oily skin Make a thick paste out of curd and chana flour. Just apply it on your face and leave it to dry for a few minutes.chana flour Apply a mixture of the milk and gram flour onto your skin and leave to dry.<br \/>To take care of chronically dry skin, mix a teaspoon of milk cream with gram flour and a teaspoon of honey and a pinch of turmeric. Apply this regularly on your face.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A skin glow mask:<\/strong><br \/>Soak tamarind root for some time. Grind and mix it with a little gram flour and apply it on your face, hands and other parts of your body.<br \/>Your skin will have a golden glow after you wash this off after 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For healthy hair (all types):<\/strong><br \/>Mix a cup of curd, two teaspoons of chana flour, an egg white and the juice of half a lemon. If you have very dry hair, substitute the egg white with a teaspoon of olive oil.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Body scrubs<\/strong><br \/>Mix together a tablespoon each of chana flour and corn flour. Use this mix to wash your face and body. This is an excellent scrub and will remove your dead skin cells, leaving you feeling clean and glowing.<br \/>Mix some fresh cream and chana flour. Apply this paste on to your body. Avoid the area around the eyes, eyebrows and lips. Shower after five minutes. This will make skin smooth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Unwanted facial hair:<\/strong><br \/>Apply a mixture of fenugreek powder and chana flour on the unwanted hair. Let it dry and rub off.<br \/>Mix chana flour, milk and turmeric (you can add lemon juice and sandalwood powder) and apply on face. Let it dry and rub off in a circular motion.<br \/>Mix chana flour, lemon juice and malai. Apply on areas with excess hair and rub off.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Face packs:<br \/>For normal skin<\/strong><br \/>Mix two tablespoons of gram flour and four tablespoons of milk in a clean container. Apply this all over the face and the neck avoiding the area around the eyes and lips. Leave on for 10 minutes and then wash off.<\/p>\n<p>For oily skin:<br \/>Mix two tablespoons of honey with a teaspoon of lemon juice and a teaspoon of rosewater. Apply this all over the face, leave it on for about five minutes and wash off.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For dry skin<\/strong><br \/>Mix a tablespoon of milk powder with a teaspoon of gram flour and two tablespoons of rose water. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes and then wash off.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gram Flour and Turmeric Mask:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is an age-old mask that Indian women are using on their face for ages to remove dead skin cells (exfoliate). It is equally effective for normal-facial skin type.<\/p>\n<p>In a bowl take some gram flour, add a pinch of turmeric powder to it, and make a paste along with water.<br \/>Apply it on your face (can apply also in neck and whole body, if desired).<br \/>After half an hour, take the mask gently off your face by washing it with lukewarm water.<br \/>This face mask will not only give you a fresh feeling, it will make your facial skin soft like silk and give it a definite &lsquo;glow&rsquo;. This technique is also useful in removing facial hair.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gram flour, Curd and Lime Juice:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This mask is suitable for treating oily-facial skin types.<\/p>\n<p>Take as much gram flour in a bowl as you like.<br \/>Then take equal amount of card in it to ensure a smooth paste and squeeze lime juice in this mixture.<br \/>Apply this paste on your face.
