At other times he mixed ripe dates with cucumber, or dates combined with ghee. He used to take all varieties of dates, but he preferred the variety called Ajwah<\/p>\n<p>Abdullah ibn Jaafar radiyallahu anhu says, &ldquo;Rasoolullah sallallahu alaihe wasallam ate Qith&rsquo;thaa (cucumbers) with dates.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Cucumber has a cold effect and dates have a hot one. By combining the two it becomes mild. From this hadith we gather that it is recommended that the effect (hot or cold) of things eaten should be taken into consideration. Cucumber is insipid and tasteless, and dates are sweet which results in the cucumber also tasting sweet.<\/p>\n<p>To be &quot;cool as a cucumber&quot; add them to your menus during the warm summer months when they are in season. Although slicing cucumbers are available year round, they are at their best from May through July.<\/p>\n<p>Cucumbers are scientifically known as Curcumas sativus and belong to the same family as watermelon, zucchini, pumpkin, and other types of squash. Varieties of cucumber are grown either to be eaten fresh or to be pickled. Those that are to be eaten fresh are commonly called slicing cucumbers. Cucumbers such as gherkins that are specially cultivated to make pickles are often times much smaller than slicing cucumbers.<\/p>\n<p>Cucumber for Skin Care<\/p>\n<p>Cucumber can create wonders for your skin. It is the best natural remedy for treating spots and scars on the skin. With its hydrating and astringent properties, cucumber acts as the most effective moisturizer for your skin. It keeps the skin healthy and fit, and makes it look younger. Fresh cucumber juice along with honey if applied to the skin on a regular basis can act as great toner for your skin and also lighten your complexion.<\/p>\n<p>Cucumber Face Mask<br \/>There are number of ways in which you can prepare a cucumber face mask. Add it to the cucumber mixture. Apply on your face and neck, avoiding eyes. Leave it for 15 min and then wash it off with water. Pat dry. This is like a refreshing treat for your skin.<\/p>\n<p>Cucumber for Acne Treatment<br \/>Peel the cucumber and make thin slices. Put these slices in a bowl of water and leave it for about an hour. Leave the mask in place for 30 minutes, then rinse with warm water. Splash cool water on after that, and then gently pat dry.<\/p>\n<p>Clear Skin Mask<br \/>if you are occasionally troubled by blemishes, this easy mask will help to prevent them.<\/p>\n<p>Place the following in a blender and blend until smooth:<br \/>1\/2 cucumber, peeled<br \/>1 tablespoon instant non-fat dry milk<br \/>1 teaspoon plain yogurt<\/p>\n<p>Apply to face and leave on for 20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.<\/p>\n<p>Grated cucumber applied over face, eyes and neck for 15 &#8211; 20 minutes has been found effective as a beauty aid and a best tonic for the skin of the face. Its regular use prevents pimples, blackheads, wrinkles and dryness of the face. Cucumber juice promotes hair growth due to its high silicon and sulphur content, particularly when mixed with carrot, lettuce and spinach juice.<\/p>\n<p>Cucumber Mask<\/p>\n<p>For oily skin.<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 cucumber<br \/>1 egg white<br \/>1 tablespoon lemon juice<br \/>1 teaspoon mint<\/p>\n<p>Puree ingredients in a blender and refrigerate for 10 minutes. Apply the mixture to your face and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse with hot, then cool water.<\/p>\n<p>Cucumber Wrinkle Cream<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 cucumber<br \/>1 egg white<br \/>2 tablespoons mayonnaise<br \/>1\/2 cup oil<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;Use wheat germ, olive or avocado oil.<\/p>\n<p>Wash the cucumber, but do not peel. Cube and blend with remaining ngredients. Apply morning and evening, and gently wipe off with tissues.<\/p>\n<p>Aloe Vera, Cucumber mask<\/p>\n<p>This very simple cucumber mask hydrates and soothes. The cooling and<br \/>cleansing cucumber softens and makes your skin suppler.
