The cold blistery air can cause cracking, redness and dryness that can result in feelings of self-consciousness and painful skin. Many commercial products claim easy and fast solutions, but homemade treatments and remedies should not be overlooked. The benefits of eating fresh un-processed foods also apply to using fresh ingredients, such as fruits, vegetables and spices, in a homemade skin treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Oats and Honey Facial<\/p>\n<p>Besides giving you energy all morning long, oatmeal is a gentle exfoliate with soothing, anti-inflammatory properties. Here is a simple face scrub that can also be used as a mask:<br \/>&bull;&frac12;&nbsp; cup oats, any variety<br \/>&bull;&frac12;&nbsp; cup honey<br \/>Blend oats and honey in a blender or food processor until smooth.<br \/>Apply to clean, dry skin in small circular motions, covering the entire face, neck, and decolletage areas. Rinse with warm water, or, for a mask treatment, allow leave on for 10 minutes, then rinse.<\/p>\n<p>Facial Cleansing<br \/>I. Simple cleansing<br \/>1.Lightly massage a tablespoon of coconut or olive oil around your face<br \/>2.Wring out a hot washcloth use this to remove the oil<br \/>3.Rinse again under warm water<br \/>4.Pat your skin dry with a clean cloth II. Deep cleansing<br \/>1.Ingredients: almond meal, olive oil and honey<br \/>2.Mix until it forms a paste<br \/>3.Apply, massaging gently<br \/>4.Rinse with warm water and pat dry Masks<\/p>\n<p>Avocado mask<br \/>1.Ingredients: avocado, extra-virgin olive oil<br \/>2.Mash the avocado with a fork, add small amount of olive oil until mixture is smooth<br \/>3.Apply to face<br \/>4.Rinse with warm water<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;Milk mask<br \/>1.Ingredients: plain, natural yogurt, buttermilk, sour cream <br \/>2.Mix together<br \/>3.Apply to face, avoiding eyes, and rest for 10-15 minutes<br \/>4.Rinse with cool water<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;Oatmeal mask<br \/>1.Ingredients: raw oatmeal flakes, egg yolk, honey<br \/>2.Mix equal proportions until think enough to stay on face<br \/>3.Apply and leave on for 20 minutes<br \/>4.Rinse with tepid water and pat dry<\/p>\n<p>Banana mask<br \/>1.Mash a banana, adding fresh cream until mixture is smooth<br \/>2.Apply to face for 30 minutes<br \/>3.Rinse and pat dry<br \/>Moisturizers<\/p>\n<p>Honey<br \/>1.Ingredients: 1 &frac12;&nbsp; tsps. honey, &frac12;&nbsp; lemon, 3 tbs. plain yogurt 1<br \/>whipped egg white<br \/>2.Mix together<br \/>3.Apply to face for 15 minutes<br \/>4.Rinse with tepid water<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;Multi-use moisturizer<br \/>1.Ingredients: beeswax, cocoa butter, water, coconut, sesame and olive oils<br \/>2.Melt beeswax with water over low heat<br \/>3.Add cocoa butter and blend<br \/>4.Gradually add coconut, sesame and olive oils<br \/>5.Pour mixture into a glass jar<br \/>6.Let cool (mixture will continue to thicken as it cools)<br \/>7.Apply anywhere on body<\/p>\n<p>Moisturizer for oily skin<br \/>Ingredients: 1 med. apple (grated), 5 tbsp. honey Mix together Apply even layer over face\/skin Leave on for 10 minutes Rinse with cool water<br \/>Papaya moisturizer\/mask<br \/>Ingredients: papaya, 1 tsp. olive oil<br \/>1.Peel, seed and mash papaya<br \/>2.Mix in olive oil<br \/>3.Spread on clean, dry face and neck area<br \/>4.Leave for 15-20 minutes<br \/>5.Rinse with warm water<\/p>\n<p>Avocado Facial for Dry Skin<br \/>Dry, flaky skin is a common problem during the cold season. Use the natural moisturizing power of avocado and prepare the following simple beauty recipe.<\/p>\n<p>Grab one medium-sized avocado and mash the meat into a small bowl.<br \/>Cleanse your pores and apply the treatment on your complexion.
