The leaf is  glabrous, venation parallel with an acuminate apice and sheathing base. <br \/>Stem: There are no true stems. The leaf sheath is tubular and acts as a pseudo stem. <br \/>Root\/rhizome: The tuber is stout, creeping, robust and creamish yellow in section. <\/p>\n<p>PLANT PARTS USED: Leaves <br \/>USES IN TRADITIONAL MEDICINE <br \/>1. Stomach complaints: essential oil is rubbed topically for comfort. <br \/>2. Insect repellant: the dried or injured leaves used to ward off insects.<br \/>3.
