His private \u1e63alah would be even lengthier. He would weep and pray for hours on end in the night.<\/p>\n
Abdull\u0101h bin al-Shikh-khir (ra\u1e0diy Allahu \u02bfanhu) said, \u201cI came to the Prophet \ufdfa whilst he was praying. His inside was making a sound like the sound of the boiling of the cooking-pot [due to crying profusely]\u201d (Nasa\u2019i). In another narration, the sound was likened to the noise of a mill-stone (Abu Dawud).<\/p>\n
The following \u1e25ad\u012bth is one of the most amazing accounts of the perfection and quality of the Prophet\u2019s \ufdfa \u1e63al\u0101h:<\/p>\n
\u1e24udhayfah (ra\u1e0diy All\u0101hu \u02bfanhu) said, \u201cI prayed with the Messenger of Allah \ufdfa one night and he started reciting S\u016brah al-Baqarah. I said to myself that he will do ruk\u016b\u02bf at the end of one hundred \u0101y\u0101t, but he carried on reciting. I then said to myself that he will perhaps recite the whole s\u016brah in a rak\u02bfah, and he carried on reciting. (At the end of S\u016brah al-Baqarah), I said to myself that he will (now) go into ruk\u016b\u02bf. However, he then started S\u016brah al-Nis\u0101\u2019, and recited it. He then started S\u016brah \u0100l \u02bfImr\u0101n and recited it slowly.<\/p>\n
When he recited the \u0101y\u0101t which entailed the glorification of Allah (tasb\u012b\u1e25), he glorified Him. When he recited the \u0101y\u0101t which entailed asking (du\u02bf\u0101\u2019), he would ask Allah. And when he recited the \u0101y\u0101t which entailed the protection of Allah, he sought His protection.<\/p>\n
He \ufdfa then went into ruk\u016b\u02bf and said, \u2018How Perfect is my Lord, the Magnificent.\u2019 His bowing lasted about the same length of time as his standing. He then said, \u2018May Allah respond to the one who has praised Him\u2019, and he then stood for a long time, about the same length of time as he had spent in bowing. He then performed sajdah and said, \u2018How Perfect is my Lord, the Most Exalted\u2019, and his prostration lasted nearly the same length of time as his standing\u201d (Muslim).<\/p>\n
All\u0101hu Akbar! Go back and read this \u1e25ad\u012bth again to fully appreciate its significance. Can you imagine what the \u1e63al\u0101h of Ras\u016blull\u0101h \ufdfa was like?<\/p>\n
The above \u1e25ad\u012bth gives us a glimpse of the noble and pure love he \ufdfa had for his Creator and Master (\u02bfazza wa jall). The Prophet \ufdfa at the time was over the age of fifty. Despite this, along with the responsibilities he shouldered throughout the day, he still spent hours at night in standing, bowing and prostrating to his Lord.<\/p>\n
It is not surprising then that the Prophet \ufdfa said,<\/p>\n
