He resumed the construction of Masjid al-Aq\u1e63a (also known as Solomon&#8217;s Temple) which had been started during his father\u2019s era. Sulaymaan \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0633\u0644\u0627\u0645 ruled for a further 40 years, from 978 BC to 938 BC, thus making a total of 80 years rule between the two Prophets, Dawud \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0633\u0644\u0627\u0645 and Sulaymaan \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0633\u0644\u0627\u0645.<\/p>\n<p>The following verses relate to Allah\u2019s favour upon Sulaymaan \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0633\u0644\u0627\u0645 by commanding the wind to be under Sulaymaan \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0633\u0644\u0627\u0645\u2019s \u201ccontrol\u201d in the land that Allah says He has blessed. The blessed land in this verse of the Holy Qur\u2019\u0101n refers to Palestine. It was an honour for the land of Palestine that Sulaymaan \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0633\u0644\u0627\u0645 travelled through it with the aid of the wind, a miracle with which Allah had exclusively favoured Sulaymaan \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0633\u0644\u0627\u0645. Palestine, a blessed land, was further exalted as it also became the place of Allah\u2019s special favours upon one of His Prophets.<\/p>\n<p>\u0648\u064e\u0644\u0650\u0633\u064f\u0644\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0645\u064e\u0640\u0670\u0646\u064e \u0671\u0644\u0631\u0651\u0650\u064a\u062d\u064e \u0639\u064e\u0627\u0635\u0650\u0641\u064e\u0629\u064b \u062a\u064e\u062c\u0652\u0631\u0650\u0649 \u0628\u0650\u0623\u064e\u0645\u0652\u0631\u0650\u0647\u0650\u06e6\u0653 \u0625\u0650\u0644\u064e\u0649 \u0671\u0644\u0652\u0623\u064e\u0631\u0652\u0636\u0650 \u0671\u0644\u0651\u064e\u062a\u0650\u0649 \u0628\u064e\u0640\u0670\u0631\u064e\u0643\u0652\u0646\u064e\u0627 \u0641\u0650\u064a\u0647\u064e\u0627 \u06da \u0648\u064e\u0643\u064f\u0646\u0651\u064e\u0627 \u0628\u0650\u0643\u064f\u0644\u0651\u0650 \u0634\u064e\u0649\u0652\u0621\u064d \u0639\u064e\u0640\u0670\u0644\u0650\u0645\u0650\u064a\u0646\u064e<\/p>\n<p>And We subdued the strongly raging wind to Solomon which blew at his bidding towards the land We blessed. We know everything. [Surah al-Anbiy\u0101\u2019 21: 81]<\/p>\n<p>\u0641\u064e\u0633\u064e\u062e\u0651\u064e\u0631\u0652\u0646\u064e\u0627 \u0644\u064e\u0647\u064f \u0671\u0644\u0631\u0651\u0650\u064a\u062d\u064e \u062a\u064e\u062c\u0652\u0631\u0650\u0649 \u0628\u0650\u0623\u064e\u0645\u0652\u0631\u0650\u0647\u0650\u06e6 \u0631\u064f\u062e\u064e\u0627\u0653\u0621\u064b \u062d\u064e\u064a\u0652\u062b\u064f \u0623\u064e\u0635\u064e\u0627\u0628\u064e<\/p>\n<p>We subjected the wind to him, so that it blew gently at his bidding, wherever he directed it. We gave him a spring flowing with molten brass, and We subdued for him jinn who, by his Lord\u2019s permission, worked before him. Such of them as swerved from Our commandment, We let them taste the chastisement of the Blazing Fire. [Surah Saba\u2019 34: 12]<\/p>\n<p>Allah even subjected the Jinn to Sulaymaan \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0633\u0644\u0627\u0645\u2019s order, and he used the Jinn profitably and employed their energy towards building dams, large cauldrons and whole cities. There is also an indication here that the Jinn were used in the re-construction of Masjid al-Aq\u1e63a.<\/p>\n<p>All the above verses of the Holy Qur\u2019an make a direct or an indirect reference to the land of Palestine, via events or people associated with the land of Palestine.<\/p>\n<p>Upon Sulaymaan \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0633\u0644\u0627\u0645\u2019s death, according to Biblical traditions, his son Rehoboam was crowned. However, within a very short period, a revolt began and hatred between the different Jewish tribes reared up and the kingdom was split in 922 BC. To the north, Israel was formed which later became known as Samaria. To the south, Judea was formed with Jerusalem as its capital. A great rivalry ensued between these two neighbours and by 722 BC the Assyrians (from modern-day Syria) conquered and destroyed Israel.<\/p>\n<p>Judea, where the children of Dawud \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0633\u0644\u0627\u0645 lived, remained united and intact for a while. However, even here religious corruption crept in slowly, idolatry and superstition became the norm and even the Masjid al-Aq\u1e63a was not spared.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAltars and high places were erected on every hill and under every green tree. In Judea there were as many gods as there were towns. Images of gods in silver, wood and stone were erected in the houses.
