{"id":7592,"date":"2007-08-28T08:41:45","date_gmt":"2007-08-28T06:41:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev.radioislam.org.za\/wordpress\/2007\/08\/28\/honey-iced-cake\/"},"modified":"2007-08-28T08:41:45","modified_gmt":"2007-08-28T06:41:45","slug":"honey-iced-cake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radioislam.org.za\/a\/honey-iced-cake\/","title":{"rendered":"Honey iced cake"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><u><strong>Ingredients :<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<p>2 tablespoons coffee<br \/>   2 tablespoons hot water<br \/>   250g butter<br \/>   4 teaspoons vanilla essence<br \/>   1&frac12; cups brown sugar<br \/>   4 eggs<br \/>   1\/3 cup custard powder<br \/>   &frac34; cup ideal milk<br \/>   2 cups self raising flour<\/p>\n<p><u><strong>Icing :<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<p>   60 g butter<br \/>   2 teaspoons coffee<br \/>   4 teaspoons hot water<br \/>   2 teaspoons honey<br \/>   2 teaspoons vanilla or coffee essence<br \/>   1&frac12; cups icing sugar<\/p>\n<p><u><strong>Topping :<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<p>   Flake chocolate, chocolate curls or chocolate bits.<br \/>   Fresh cream (whipped) if desired.<\/p>\n<p><u><strong>Method :<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<p>1. Grease 2 x 20cm ring pans.<br \/>   2. Dissolve coffee in water and combine with butter, vanilla essence sugar and    eggs. Beat till smooth and creamy.<br \/>   3. Mix custard in milk separately.<br \/>   4. Sift in flour and add to egg mixture.<br \/>   5. Mix well till smooth and light using folding method. Pour into prepared tins.<br \/>   6. Bake at 180 degrees for 40 minutes or till done.<br \/>   7. Allow to cool and place on cooling rack.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Icing :<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Melt butter and stir in coffee, vanilla essence and half sifted icing sugar.    Gradually sift in remaining icing sugar to make a spread-able mixture.<br \/>   2. Spread over cake and pipe rosettes.<br \/>   3.
