Cream butter and sugar well. Add one egg at a time and beat well into butter mixture. Mix yoghurt and bicarb together. Add orange peel. Add flour alternatively with yoghurt into the butter\/egg mixture. Lastly mix in the chopped nuts and dates. Bake at 180 for 35 &ndash; 40 min. Make syrup by heating the sugar and juice together until the sugar is completely absorbed. Then chill the syrup.
