Affan Ibn Hafeez Sufyaan Patel is a 7-year-old boy who, at birth, was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus, a neurological disorder caused by an abnormal build-up of cerebrospinal fluid in the ventricles (cavities) deep within the brain.<\/span><\/p>\n

Due to this condition, Affan also suffered from impaired vision and could not walk until he was four. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, his parents constantly recited the Qur’an and rubbed his legs with oil.<\/span><\/p>\n

Little Affan as a baby, was constantly listening to the recital of Sheikh Abdur Rahmaan As Sudais that was played near him. At night when the recital of the Qur’an stopped, Affan used to become restless and would return to comfort once the recital was replayed. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Affan’s father, Hafeez Sufyaan Patel, said he recited Surah Yaaseen, Surah Mulk, Surah Sajdah and Surah Waaqiah daily and on more than one occasion when Affan’s mother was reciting an Aayah (Verse) of the Qur’an, little Affan would tell her what number Surah she is reciting from and the name of the Surah too.<\/span><\/p>\n

At first, they thought that Affan had familiarised himself with the daily recitals, but after further tests, the miracle of the Qur’an became apparent to them. Affan could name the Surah and the number of the Surah of any Aayat that was recited from the entire Qur’an.<\/span><\/p>\n

Affan’s days and nights are spent listening to the Qur’an, resulting in him being able to distinguish various Surahs and chapters of the Noble Qur’an when recited to him.<\/span><\/p>\n

Affan can also recognise the number of the Surah just by naming the Surah and vice versa.<\/span><\/p>\n

May Allah inspire us to devote ourselves to the Qur\u2019an’s recitation and teachings.<\/p>\n
