4 to 5 granny Smith apples
\n1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
\n\u00bc cup brown sugar<\/p>\n

Method :
\n<\/u><\/strong>– Peel and core the apples
\n– Slice them thickly and place in a 1 litre oven proof pudding dish
\n– Mix the cinnamon and the sugar and sprinkle over the apples<\/p>\n

Topping :
\n<\/u><\/strong>125g butter or margarine
\n\u00be cup brown sugar
\n2 eggs
\n1 cup self-raising flour
\n\u00bd teaspoon almond essence
\n\u00bc cup milk
\n2 tablespoon flaked almonds (for decoration)<\/p>\n

Method :
\n<\/u><\/strong>– Cream butter and sugar
\n– Beat in eggs
\n– Add flour, essence and milk
\n– Spread the mixture over the apples
\n– Sprinkle flaked almonds over
\n– Bake at 180 degrees C for about 35 minutes
\n– The apples will be tender and the sponge well risen and golden brown
