Thandi Smith, Head of Programs at Media Morning Africa, joined the conversation on Sabahul Muslim and spoke on how the world\u2019s media reported on the African Delegation Peace Mission to Russia and Ukraine.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Smith, the South African media focused on the logistics of the security personnel not being allowed to disembark in Poland. However, media across Africa focused on what happened during the peace mission. This highlighted that the South African media did not examine the exact mission details.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking on the attack on a school in Uganda, Smith says that because the focus is on the conflict in Europe, the media is not looking at Africa and the events unfolding within our continent.<\/span><\/p>\n

South African firefighters have been sent to Canada to assist with the wildfires devastating parts of the country. Smith mentioned that the story had gained the continent’s attention, and this was a great \u201cgood news\u201d story as we navigate through the negative news daily.<\/span><\/p>\n
