{"id":8102,"date":"2012-10-04T05:08:19","date_gmt":"2012-10-04T03:08:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev.radioislam.org.za\/wordpress\/2012\/10\/04\/easy-gajaar-carrot-halwa-041012\/"},"modified":"2012-10-04T05:08:19","modified_gmt":"2012-10-04T03:08:19","slug":"easy-gajaar-carrot-halwa-041012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radioislam.org.za\/a\/easy-gajaar-carrot-halwa-041012\/","title":{"rendered":"Easy Gajaar &#8211; Carrot Halwa (04.10.12)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>COURTESY OF MIRAIM VALLY&nbsp; &#8211; AUTHOR OF THE PRIDE OF INDIAN COOKING<br \/>INGREDIENTS<br \/>6 cups grated carrots &ndash; heaped<br \/>1 &frac12;&nbsp; level cups sugar as required<br \/>2 level cups milk &ndash; skim milk can be used<br \/>1 tin condense milk<br \/>1 level tsp egg yellow<br \/>1 dessert spoon rose water<br \/>3 tsps elachi powder<br \/>1 &frac12; level cups coconut &ndash; fresh grated can be used<br \/>1 level cup sojee &ndash; semolina<br \/>&frac12; cup ghee <br \/>&frac12; cup nuts &ndash; almonds or mixed nuts<br \/>&frac12; cup sultanas &ndash; optional<\/p>\n<p>METHOD<br \/>&bull;Add carrots and sugar to milk. <br \/>&bull;Boil the mixture on medium heat for approximately 5 minutes. <br \/>&bull;Add condense milk, egg yellow, rose water and elachi.<br \/>&bull;Allow to cook until most of the liquid has evaporated &ndash; thick and mushy. <br \/>&bull;Add coconut.
