{"id":8130,"date":"2012-08-14T09:03:52","date_gmt":"2012-08-14T07:03:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev.radioislam.org.za\/wordpress\/2012\/08\/14\/burfee\/"},"modified":"2012-08-14T09:03:52","modified_gmt":"2012-08-14T07:03:52","slug":"burfee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radioislam.org.za\/a\/burfee\/","title":{"rendered":"Burfee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>500g (5 cups) Klim milk powder<br \/>125ml- &frac12; cup nestle cream<br \/>125ml- &frac12; cup melted ghee<br \/>250ml- 1 cup&nbsp; sugar<br \/>125ml- &frac12; cup water<br \/>125 &#8211;&nbsp; &frac14; cup ground almonds<br \/>125ml (&frac12; cup) thick ghee<br \/>500ml 2 cups desiccated coconut<br \/>125ml (&frac12; cup) nestle cream<br \/>3 ml &frac12;&nbsp; cardamom powder (elachi)<br \/>1 can (397g) condensed milk<br \/>Coloured slivered almonds for decoration<br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>Method: <br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>Place Klim &frac12; cup nestle cream and &frac12; cup ghee in a mixing bowl and rub until evenly mixed. Set aside.<br \/>Combine sugar and water in a saucepan. Allow to dissolve and bring to the boil. Boil for ten minutes.<br \/>Add ground almonds, thick ghee, coconut, extra nestle cream, cardamom and Klim mixture.<br \/>Cook over low heat whilst stirring, until the mixture appears dryish.<br \/>Add condensed milk and continue to stir over gentle heat until mixture has thickened. (About 30 minutes).<br \/>Spread into a deep tray (28 * 18cm) and decorate with the almonds.
