{"id":8214,"date":"2012-04-12T04:27:58","date_gmt":"2012-04-12T02:27:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev.radioislam.org.za\/wordpress\/2012\/04\/12\/memon-akhni-recipe-050412\/"},"modified":"2012-04-12T04:27:58","modified_gmt":"2012-04-12T02:27:58","slug":"memon-akhni-recipe-050412","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radioislam.org.za\/a\/memon-akhni-recipe-050412\/","title":{"rendered":"Memon akhni recipe (05.04.12)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div align=\"justify\" style=\"font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 12px\">For 1 chicken or 1 kg mutton meat aknee you will need:<br \/>1 large onion finely chopped,<br \/>1 cup oil and 1\/4 cup ghee.<br \/>Soak 2 tsp whole jeeru, <br \/>5 cardomon pods (cracked open), <br \/>7 cloves, <br \/>2 innamon <br \/>1 inch sticks, <br \/>and <br \/>12 black peppercorns. <\/p>\n<p>Leave aside. soak 2 &frac12; cups rice in cold water for about &frac12; hour and leave aside. raise onions and just before it turns gold add in the soaked spices with the water and close the lid of the pot, this gives it a lovely lavor. when onions are pinky gold add your chicken or meat pieces and 1 tblsp&nbsp; ginger paste and 1 tblsp garlic paste, 1 tsp salt, 2 tsp jeeru powder, 1\/2&nbsp; tsp turmeric. Let it cook a bit then add 2 cups grated tomato with 3 tsp paprika and hot chilli powder according to taste, and 2 tsp dhania powder.When the chicken\/meat is cooked and the tomato and braise leave aside. Just half an hour before lunch time add water about 4 and half cups water and for 2 and half cups rice add 2 and half tsps salt When water boils add your soaked rice and 8 to 10 pieces of potatoes. Cook on high heat n stir the rice several times. When little water left simmer and cover lid till rice is cooked.
