With approximately 79 branches across the province and a presence in all regions, the party aims to make a meaningful contribution to the political landscape.

Addressing ActionSA’s position on international matters, particularly Israel’s war on Palestine, Mncwango emphasised a neutral stance.

“The position we took with ActionSA is a neutral position,” Mncwango said.

He acknowledged challenges in the Middle East but stressed the importance of dialogue and a collaborative effort from the international community to find solutions. Mncwango’s remarks sparked discussion on the party’s perceived neutrality in the face of genocide and war crimes.

This, after ActionSA’s leader, Herman Mashaba reportedly said that Palestine has to “co-exist” with Israel and that “standing with one party or the other is a disservice to all.”

Mncwango redirected the conversation to focus on South Africa’s pressing issues, stating that the primary responsibility lies in combating crime and ensuring the safety of citizens.

Mncwango reiterated the urgency of addressing domestic challenges, highlighting the high crime rate in South Africa. He emphasised the need to equip police officers with adequate tools to combat crime, ensuring the safety of citizens on the streets. He underscored ActionSA’s commitment to addressing pressing issues within the country.

Reflecting on the political spectrum, Mncwango acknowledged the likelihood of coalition arrangements in the upcoming elections. He emphasised ActionSA’s desire to actively contribute to governance rather than being in opposition, positioning the party as a potential player in coalition dynamics.

The interview provided a comprehensive view of ActionSA’s approach, with Mncwango’s emphasis on building support, contributing meaningfully, and addressing South Africa’s immediate challenges. The party’s stance on Israel’s war on Palestine raises concerns about its viability as a political option in the upcoming elections.

Listen to the full interview on Sabaahul Muslim wit Moulana Sulaimaan Ravat.

Sameera Casmod | sameerac@radioislam.co.za 14 November 2023 | 10:27 CAT 1-min read In an interview on Radio Islam International, ActionSA’s premier candidate for the 2024 elections in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), Zwakele Mncwango, discussed the party’s goals, support, the challenges facing South Africa, and the party’s stance on the Palestine War.
