Renowned for her literacy achievements, Stacey was recently recognised with an excellence award for her outstanding service as a Junior MMC for community development in the City of Johannesburg Student Council 2022 and 2023.<\/p>\n

Among her numerous accomplishments during her tenure was organising a groundbreaking women’s conference in 2022, marking a historic celebration of National Women’s Month. The conference’s theme, initiated by Stacey, focused on empowering women in STEM fields.<\/p>\n

Radio Islam International delves into Fru’s experiences in a conversation with the founder of Stacey Fru Foundation and multi-award-winning author and child activist Stacey Fru.<\/p>\n

Fru described her feelings as surprised as she did not anticipate receiving this award. However, the end commemorated Fru’s mandate, leaving her feeling proud to have served the city as a junior MMC.<\/p>\n

“The feeling I got when they called up my name to receive this award was one of surprise. Yet again, as I reflect on my journey as a junior MMC, I see the work I had put in alongside my fellow junior councillors,” says Fru.<\/p>\n

The development of communities has always been important to Fru, and at 16, she founded and headed an organisation. Fru’s many achievements include being an accomplished author with six books.<\/p>\n
