{"id":8528,"date":"2009-06-09T14:54:25","date_gmt":"2009-06-09T12:54:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev.radioislam.org.za\/wordpress\/2009\/06\/09\/rogan-josh-090609\/"},"modified":"2009-06-09T14:54:25","modified_gmt":"2009-06-09T12:54:25","slug":"rogan-josh-090609","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radioislam.org.za\/a\/rogan-josh-090609\/","title":{"rendered":"Rogan Josh (09.06.09)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\"><br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">600g Lamb cubed<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">3 tsp ginger and garlic paste<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">3 Tbsp oil<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">2 tsp salt<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">1 tsp turmeric powder<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">2 tsp dhana<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">2 tsp ground jeero<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">2 Tbsp plain yoghurt<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">1 tsp chilli powder<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">2 medium onions finely chopped<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">&frac34; tin of peeled tomatoes<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">Fresh coriander to garnish<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">Method:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">Add oil o saucepan on high heat until very hot. Now add in the finely chopped onions and stir fry until pieces soften and become translucent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">Then add the garlic and ginger paste and keep stir &ndash; frying fro 3 min to prevent burning until the mixture is golden brown. Add all of the ground spices and keep stirring whilst continuing to fry on high heat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">Then add the lamb and stir into the mixture fry on high heat for 5 min until the meat has fully browned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">Add in tinned tomatoes and mash the tomatoes into the mixture with a spoon, taking care to ensure that the plum tomatoes do not remain in chunks and stir into the meat mixture.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">Allow to cook uncovered for 5 minutes before adding the yoghurt.
