As South Africa prepares for the upcoming elections, Build One South Africa (BOSA) leader Mmusi Maimane has set an ambitious goal of creating two million new jobs within the next five years.<\/p>\n

Maimane detailed the party\u2019s strategy at the manifesto launch, which took place in Johannesburg on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Maimane emphasised the need to combat unemployment, particularly in households where no income is present.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are 40% of households in this country where there is no income going in there, and the only income is remittances or some form of grants,\u201d Maimane explained in an interview<\/a> on Radio Islam International.<\/p>\n

BOSA’s plan aims to put a job in every home, addressing the fundamental issue of income disparity.<\/p>\n

The strategy focus penetration and microeconomic stability, enhancing logistics infrastructure, promoting digital penetration, and reforming the regulatory framework to facilitate business growth.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve introduced the National Venture Capital Fund that will fund microenterprises and communities, particularly those in townships, because it is key that people work closer to home\u2026 to reduce the burden of people people\u2026spending 40% of their income going to work,\u201d Maimane said.<\/p>\n

He emphasises the importance of skills development to ensure young people are employable in the evolving job market.<\/p>\n

Critiquing the current state of the education system, Maimane calls for the resignation of the Basic Education Minister and advocates for an independent and competent leader to lead education reform.<\/p>\n

He highlights the need to address low literacy and numeracy rates, emphasising the importance of quality education in ensuring the freedom and future success of young people.<\/p>\n

Addressing the pervasive issue of crime, BOSA proposes reforms in policing, including increasing police presence, enhancing training, and improving intelligence gathering.<\/p>\n

Maimane highlights the need for regionalised funding and specialised crime units to tackle specific areas of criminal activity effectively.<\/p>\n

Maimane expresses confidence in BOSA’s ability to represent all South Africans and notes significant growth in key provinces, including KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng, Western Cape, Eastern Cape, and Limpopo.<\/p>\n
