On Zero Discrimination Day, 1 March, people celebrate the right of everyone to live a full and productive life\u2014and live it with dignity. Zero Discrimination Day highlights how people can become informed about and promote inclusion, compassion, peace and, above all, a movement for change. Zero Discrimination Day is helping to create a global movement of solidarity to end all forms of discrimination.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This year is the tenth anniversary of Zero Discrimination Day and the theme is \u201cTo protect everyone\u2019s health, protect everyone\u2019s rights\u201d.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“To protect everyone\u2019s health, protect everyone\u2019s rights\u201d emphasizes the interconnection between public health and human rights. This phrase underscores the idea that ensuring the well-being of individuals and communities requires not only addressing health concerns but also upholding and safeguarding their fundamental rights.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It suggests that efforts to promote public health must be conducted in a manner that respects and upholds the rights of all individuals, including marginalized and vulnerable populations.
