Allah asked, \u201cHow long have you remained \u02f9in this state\u02fa?\u201d He replied, \u201cPerhaps a day or part of a day.\u201d Allah said, \u201cNo! You have remained here for a hundred years! Just look at your food and drink\u2014they have not spoiled. \u02f9But now\u02fa look at \u02f9the remains of\u02fa your donkey! And \u02f9so\u02fa We have made you into a sign for humanity. And look at the bones \u02f9of the donkey\u02fa, how We bring them together then clothe them with flesh!\u201d1 When this was made clear to him, he declared, \u201c\u02f9Now\u02fa I know that Allah is Most Capable of everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mandible Bone<\/strong><\/p>\n

The mandible, commonly known as the jawbone, is the largest and strongest bone of the human face.<\/p>\n

The jawbone is the skull’s only movable, posable bone, sharing joints with the cranium’s temporal bones. The mandible hosts the lower teeth (their depth delineated by the alveolar process). Many muscles attach to the bone, which also hosts nerves (some connecting to the teeth) and blood vessels. Amongst other functions, the jawbone is essential for chewing food.<\/p>\n

1. Support and Structure:<\/strong> The mandible provides support and structure to the lower part of the face. It forms the lower jaw and serves as the foundation for the lower teeth.<\/p>\n

In humans, the mandible is the largest and lowest bone in the facial skeleton. It is the only movable bone of the skull (discounting the vibrating ossicles of the middle ear). It is connected to the skull’s temporal bones by the temporomandibular joints. In addition to simply opening and closing, the jawbone can articulate side to side as well as forward and back.<\/p>\n

2. Articulation:<\/strong> The mandible articulates with the temporal bones of the skull at the temporomandibular joints (TMJs), allowing for movements such as opening and closing of the mouth, chewing, and speaking.<\/p>\n

Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Function: The mandible forms the lower part of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), which is the joint that connects the jaw to the skull. This joint allows for various movements of the mandible, including opening, closing, and side-to-side movements during activities such as chewing, speaking, and yawning.<\/p>\n

3. Alveolar Process:<\/strong> The mandible contains the alveolar process, which houses the sockets (alveoli) of the lower teeth. The teeth are anchored within these sockets, providing stability and support for chewing and biting.<\/p>\n

4. Mental Foramen:<\/strong> Located on the external surface of the mandible, the mental foramen allows for the passage of nerves and blood vessels that supply sensation to the lower lip and chin.<\/p>\n

5. Muscle Attachment:<\/strong> Various muscles of mastication (chewing muscles) attach to the mandible, including the masseter, temporalis, and medial pterygoid muscles. These muscles are responsible for movements of the jaw during chewing and biting.<\/p>\n

6. Protection of Oral Structures:<\/strong> The mandible provides protection for important oral structures such as the tongue, salivary glands, and floor of the mouth. It helps safeguard these structures from external trauma and injury.<\/p>\n

7. Bone Development and Growth:<\/strong> The mandible undergoes significant growth and development during childhood and adolescence, contributing to overall craniofacial growth and development. It plays a crucial role in determining facial proportions and features.<\/p>\n
