{"id":8720,"date":"2010-09-02T15:50:19","date_gmt":"2010-09-02T13:50:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev.radioislam.org.za\/wordpress\/2010\/09\/02\/burfee-02092010\/"},"modified":"2010-09-02T15:50:19","modified_gmt":"2010-09-02T13:50:19","slug":"burfee-02092010","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radioislam.org.za\/a\/burfee-02092010\/","title":{"rendered":"Burfee (02.09.2010)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">500g (5 cups) Klim milk powder<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">125ml (1\/2 cup) nestle cream<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">125ml (1\/2 cup) melted ghee<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">250ml (1 cup) sugar<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">125ml (1\/2 cup) water<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">125 (1\/2 cup) ground almonds<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">125ml (&frac12; cup) thick ghee<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">500ml (2 cups) desiccated coconut<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">125ml (&frac12; cup) nestle cream<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">3 ml (1\/2 teaspoon) cardamom powder (elachi)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">1 can (397g) condensed milk<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">Coloured slivered almonds for decoration<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">Method:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">Place Klim &frac12; cup nestle cream and &frac12; cup ghee in a mixing bowl and rub until evenly mixed. Set aside.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">Combine sugar and water in a saucepan. Allow to dissolve and bring to the boil. Boil for ten minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">Add ground almonds, thick ghee, coconut, extra nestle cream, cardamom and Klim mixture.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">Cook over low heat whilst stirring, until the mixture appears dryish.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">Add condensed milk and continue to stir over gentle heat until mixture has thickened. (About 30 minutes).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">Spread into a deep tray (28 * 18cm) and decorate with the almonds.
