{"id":8747,"date":"2007-08-29T08:11:12","date_gmt":"2007-08-29T06:11:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev.radioislam.org.za\/wordpress\/2007\/08\/29\/chicken-jalfrezi\/"},"modified":"2007-08-29T08:11:12","modified_gmt":"2007-08-29T06:11:12","slug":"chicken-jalfrezi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radioislam.org.za\/a\/chicken-jalfrezi\/","title":{"rendered":"Chicken jalfrezi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font face=\"Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\" size=\"+2\"><strong> <\/strong><\/font> <\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\">  <\/div>\n<p align=\"justify\"><strong><font face=\"Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\" size=\"-1\">Ingredients<br \/>   <\/font><\/strong><font face=\"Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\" size=\"-1\">2    Medium Onions finely sliced<br \/>   60ml Butter\/Margarine<br \/>   Salt as required<br \/>   10ml turmic\/arad<br \/>   10ml cumin powder\/jeereu<br \/>   5ml chilli powder<br \/>   5ml coriander powder\/dhana<br \/>   15ml paprika<br \/>   10ml garam masala<br \/>   30ml fresh garlic&amp; ginger masala<br \/>   3 medium tomatoes, liquidized<br \/>   5ml sugar<br \/>   250ml yoghurt<br \/>   1kg chicken pieces cut into small pieces<\/font><\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\"> <\/div>\n<p align=\"justify\"><font face=\"Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\" size=\"-1\"><strong>Optional<br \/>   <\/strong><\/font><font face=\"Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\" size=\"-1\">20ml    tomato chutney or tomato sauce<br \/>   3 whole green chillies<br \/>   10ml fresh dhanya chopped<br \/>   vegetables of choice, steamed separately then added<br \/>   8 small potatoes steamed<\/font><\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\"> <\/div>\n<p align=\"justify\"><font face=\"Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\" size=\"-1\"><strong>Method<br \/>   <\/strong><\/font><font face=\"Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\" size=\"-1\">1.    Melt butter in a large pot. Add onions and stirfry till golden taking care not    to burn them.<br \/>   2. Add 90ml water and lower the heat. Place a piece of grease proof paper over    the pot, then place the lid over the paper. Steam till onions are soft and pulpy.<br \/>   3. Mix spices with 250ml of water to make a soft paste then add this to the    onions and cook for 5-10 mins until well blended, stirring often. Add the chicken    and stir well.<br \/>   4. Add tomatoes, sugar and more water and simmer for 20mins then add water as    required to prevent the curry from drying out.<br \/>   5. Stir in the yoghurt and cook for 3 ins. Keep simmering till chicken is done.    Do not over cook the chicken. Take care when adding yoghurt, stir well otherwise    it will curdle.<br \/>   6. Add optional ingredients.<br \/>   7.
