{"id":8786,"date":"2007-08-30T02:29:31","date_gmt":"2007-08-30T00:29:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev.radioislam.org.za\/wordpress\/2007\/08\/30\/khowse-chicken-and-coconut-soup\/"},"modified":"2007-08-30T02:29:31","modified_gmt":"2007-08-30T00:29:31","slug":"khowse-chicken-and-coconut-soup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radioislam.org.za\/a\/khowse-chicken-and-coconut-soup\/","title":{"rendered":"Khowse chicken and coconut soup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><font face=\"Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\" size=\"-1\">  <\/font><\/a>   <\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\"> <\/div>\n<p align=\"justify\"><font face=\"Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\" size=\"-1\">Ingredients<\/font><\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\"> <\/div>\n<p align=\"justify\"><font face=\"Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\" size=\"-1\">&frac12;    chicken cut into 10 pieces<br \/>   1 medium onion thinly sliced<br \/>   2 tblsp ghee<br \/>   1 cinnamon stick<br \/>   1 cardamom pod<br \/>   2 cloves<br \/>   &frac12; tsp ginger\/garlic paste<br \/>   &frac12; tsp chillie powder<br \/>   &frac12; tsp coriander cumin powder<br \/>   &frac14; tsp turmeric<br \/>   salt to taste<br \/>   &frac14; cup water<br \/>   1 tblsp gram flour<br \/>   1 &frac12; lts milk<br \/>   &frac12; cup desiccated coconut<br \/>   1 tblsp chopped coriander leaves<br \/>   1 tblsp crushed chillies<br \/>   250g spaghetti broken into small pieces<br \/>   Samoosa or spring roll pastry cut into thin strips<\/font><\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\"> <\/div>\n<p align=\"justify\"><font face=\"Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\" size=\"-1\">Method<br \/>   1. Saute onion cinnamon cardamom and cloves in ghee until onion is soft<br \/>   2. Add chicken ginger garlic chilli powder coriander cumin powder turmeric and    salt. Braise well lower heat and cook till chicken is tender.<br \/>   3. Mix water and gram flour to a paste and add to chicken. Braise for one minuet.<br \/>   4. Stir in Milk and coconut and simmer for 10\/15 minutes.<br \/>   5. Garnish with coriander leaves.<br \/>   6. Deep fry pastry strips until golden brown and crispy.<br \/>   7. Roast the crushed chillies in a pan until brown in colour.<br \/>   8.
