{"id":8897,"date":"2009-07-06T08:56:23","date_gmt":"2009-07-06T06:56:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev.radioislam.org.za\/wordpress\/2009\/07\/06\/tandoori-chicken-040709\/"},"modified":"2009-07-06T08:56:23","modified_gmt":"2009-07-06T06:56:23","slug":"tandoori-chicken-040709","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radioislam.org.za\/a\/tandoori-chicken-040709\/","title":{"rendered":"Tandoori Chicken (04.07.09)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\"><br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">Ingredients:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">3 &ndash; 4 pounds of chicken bone-in use boneless skinless chicken breasts cubed for kabaabs<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">For the marinade:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">&frac14; cup fresh lemon juice <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">2 large fresh garlic cloves, peeled and chopped fine<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">1 Tbsp fresh ginger root, peeled and chopped fine<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">1 tsp ground jeero<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">&frac12; tsp ground elachi<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">&frac12; tsp ground red chili pepper<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">1 tsp tandoori colouring or substitute paprika<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">1\/3 cup yoghurt<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">Combine well all the ingredients for the marinade and let stand for few minutes for the flavors to combine. Be careful with the food coloring since it can stain your fingers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">Remove the skin from chicken pieces, slash each piece 2 &ndash; 4 times with a knife to create just &frac14; to &frac12; inch deep slashes. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana\">Add chicken to marinade and coat all the pieces. Let chicken marinade for at least a couple of hours in the refrigerator.
