The uMkhonto we Sizwe (MK) Party says it will accept democratic outcomes, on the condition that they are free, fair and are not manipulated in any way.<\/p>\n
The party has expressed optimism about its potential support in the elections on Wednesday, and polls indicate that the party might get as much as 16% of the vote.<\/p>\n
It has been predicted that the MK party will contest election results should they not receive the outcome that they hope for.<\/p>\n
However, MK party member, Visvin Reddy, told Radio Islam International that despite popular sentiment that the party is a \u201cmilitant organisation hell-bent on creating havoc, turmoil, and civil unrest,”\u00a0 it is a very civil party that will accept democratic results.<\/p>\n
Reddy also outlined the party\u2019s aim to remove the ANC, saying that the Zuma-led MKP is well-positioned to achieve this goal.<\/p>\n
According to Reddy, the party offers an alternative to the ruling ANC, which has run its course as the liberation movement in Africa that brought about South Africa\u2019s democracy, \u201cand now belongs to the museum; it belongs where the people can go read about what the ANC has done.\u201d<\/p>\n
Reddy explains that the MK party aims to repair the polarised nature of South African society that persists 30 years after democracy, positing that the party will eradicate the racial and economic divisions that still exist.<\/p>\n
The freedom of South Africa came at the cost of the nation\u2019s mineral wealth, which is controlled by external organisations, and does not benefit the majority of South Africans, Reddy says.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen we speak about state capture, the state capture that we talk about, began prior to 1994 in secret deals that were concluded between certain ANC leaders, including Nelson Mandela, and white monopoly capital. These are captains of industry that have control over the mineral resources in our country, that amass huge fortunes out of our country\u2019s resources.\u201d<\/p>\n
Reddy outlines the reasons that South Africa, as one of the wealthiest countries in Africa, is still controlled by external players who have vested interests in the nation\u2019s resources. He explains that the funding of the CR17 campaign exemplifies the manipulation of South African politics to serve the interests of minority groups.<\/p>\n
