Reports of the brutal Israeli massacre on refugees in Gaza\u2019s southern city of Rafah have etched indelible marks of sadness on the Ummah and prompted fierce international condemnation of Israel.<\/p>\n

The attack, during which Israel launched 8 missiles on the neighbourhood of Tel al-Sultan in western Rafah, killed approximately 50 Palestinians and injured over 200, Moulana Ebrahim Moosa told Radio Islam on this week\u2019s Palestine Report. The camp, in which thousands were sheltering, had been designated as a \u201csafe zone\u201d for those escaping Israel\u2019s Rafah offensive just four days prior to the attack.<\/p>\n

Moulana Moosa describes gruesome images of melting bodies and tents to convey the gravity of the macabre attack.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s been devasting about this is that this is targeting people who have been displaced many times and are not even in buildings but are in tents. The reports [are] saying that the airstrikes burnt the tents; the tents were melting and, Allah forbid, people\u2019s bodies are melting,\u201d Moulana Moosa said.<\/p>\n

Reports indicate that Israelis have been celebrating the Rafah massacre, co-opting the Jewish tradition of lighting bonfires on Lag BaOmer. Israeli media reportedly framed the celebrations as symbolic of the violence in Rafah.<\/p>\n

The recent attack has intensified Palestinian disappointment in the global indifference and betrayal by neighbouring nations and the Muslim Ummah.<\/p>\n

Activists have called for increased international activism and support to pressure Israel. They demand that countries backing Israel reevaluate their stance, sanction Israel and support a denial of Israeli statehood.<\/p>\n

The recent International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruling decision, while celebrated by many, came with a proviso that any offensive in Rafah should be halted if it risks inflicting conditions of life that could lead to the physical destruction of the Palestinian group in Gaza, Moulana Moosa explained.<\/p>\n

Critics argue that the wording is convoluted and allows for continued military actions under certain conditions. Out of the 15 judges, 13 appended statements clarifying that the ruling is conditional.<\/p>\n

The ruling does not address military operations outside Rafah, suggesting that the current conditional ruling allows Israel to continue its actions under certain circumstances.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Palestinian resistance group have reported significant military achievements. On May 26th, an operation in Jabalia led to the killing and capture of several Israeli soldiers, an event celebrated by Palestinians as a major military victory comparable to October 7th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

Following these events, Israeli authorities initially denied the captures, but the resistance released videos and images showing helmets, uniforms, and arms of the captured Israeli soldiers.<\/p>\n

The capture of Israeli soldiers, intended to rescue hostages 232 days into the war, has intensified pressure on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from the Israeli public and families of the hostages.<\/p>\n

The incident highlights the superior intelligence and resilience of Palestinian resistance groups despite the prolonged conflict.<\/p>\n
