During this period, Rasulullah \ufdfa advised those who had become Muslims that it was better for them to emigrate to Abyssinia, for the king of Abyssinia was a noble man who did not commit oppression and people will live with peace and comfort there. Some Sahabah of Rasulullah \ufdfa left Makkah with the intention to emigrate to Abyssinia. These people wanted to protect themselves from the persecutions of the Makkans and left their homes in the hope to save Allah\u2019s Deen. This was the first emigration for the Muslims.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u0641\u0643\u0627\u0646 \u0627\u0648\u0644 \u0645\u0646 \u062e\u0631\u062c \u0645\u0646 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0633\u0644\u0645\u064a\u0646 \u0639\u062b\u0645\u0627\u0646 \u0628\u0646 \u0639\u0641\u0627\u0646 \u0648 \u0632\u0648\u062c\u062a\u0647 \u0631\u0642\u064a\u0629 \u0628\u0646\u062a \u0631\u0633\u0648\u0644 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648 \u0633\u0644\u0645<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Among those who emigrated from Makkah were \u2018Uthman ibn \u2018Affan RA coupled with his wife Ruqayyah bint Rasulillah RA.<\/p>\n<p>This was the first group to emigrate in the path of Allah, which took place in the fifth year after nubuwwah. Among the daughters of Rasulullah \ufdfa, Ruqayyah RA was the first to have the honour of emigrating. She enjoys this fortune together with her husband. For the sake of the protection of Deen, to bear the hardships of journey is no ordinary honour and sacrifice. Allah has prepared an enormous reward for it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Enquiring About the Condition of Sayyidah Ruqayyah RA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After emigrating to Abyssinia, the condition of the emigrants was not known for some time. Rasulullah \ufdfa was concerned about them. Meanwhile, a woman from Quraysh returned to Makkah from Abyssinia. Rasulullah \ufdfa asked her regarding the condition of the emigrants. She responded: \u201cO Muhammad! I saw your son-in-law and your daughter.\u201d \u201cIn what condition did you see them,\u201d questioned Rasulullah \ufdfa. She explained: \u201c\u2018Uthman was taking his wife on a conveyance and goading the conveyance from behind.\u201d Upon this Rasulullah \ufdfa supplicated: \u201cMay Allah be their companion! \u2018Uthman is the first man to emigrate with his wife after Lut AS.\u201d [Al Bidayah vol. 3 pg. 66, 67]<\/p>\n<p><strong>Returning from Abyssinia<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After spending a long period in Abyssinia, the emigrants returned to Makkah; \u2018Uthman ibn \u2018Affan RA accompanied by his wife, Ruqayyah RA, as well. Meanwhile, Rasulullah \ufdfa had already made Hijrah from Makkah to Madinah. \u2018Uthman ibn \u2018Affan RA prepared for the emigration and accompanied by his wife emigrated to Madinah.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Honour of Emigrating Twice<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Worthy to mention is that Allah favoured \u2018Uthman ibn \u2018Affan RA and his wife with emigrating twice in the path of Allah for the sake of Deen, once to Abyssinia and then to Madinah. To emigrate twice is a magnificent virtue conferred upon them by Allah. The virtue of emigrating twice is established from the hadith wherein mention is made of the incident of Asma\u2019 bint Umays RA, where Rasulullah \ufdfa consoled her by proclaiming:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u0648 \u0644\u0647 \u0648 \u0644\u0627\u0635\u062d\u0627\u0628\u0647 \u0647\u062c\u0631\u0629 \u0648\u0627\u062d\u062f\u0629 \u0648 \u0644\u0643\u0645 \u0627\u0646\u062a\u0645 \u0627\u0647\u0644 \u0627\u0644\u0633\u0641\u064a\u0646\u0629 \u0647\u062c\u0631\u062a\u0627\u0646<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He and his companion have one emigration, whereas you \u2014 O people of the ship (There was no way to get to Abyssinia in those days without ships. Hence, the emigrants to Abyssinia are also called \u2018the people of the ship\u2019) \u2014 have two emigrations (double rewards). [Muslim vol. 2 pg. 304]<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sayyidah Ruqayyah\u2019s Service to Her Husband<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rasulullah \ufdfa would visit his daughter at her home and would enquire about her condition.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u0627\u0646 \u0631\u0633\u0648\u0644 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648 \u0633\u0644\u0645 \u062f\u062e\u0644 \u0639\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0628\u0646\u062a\u0647 \u0648 \u0647\u0649 \u062a\u063a\u0633\u0644 \u0631\u0627\u0633 \u0639\u062b\u0645\u0627\u0646<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Once Rasulullah \ufdfa went to her house while she was washing the head of \u2018Uthman RA. [Kanz al \u2018Ummal vol. 6 pg. 149 narration 2442]<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u064a\u0627 \u0628\u0646\u064a\u0629 \u0627\u062d\u0633\u0646\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0628\u0649 \u0639\u0628\u062f \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0641\u0627\u0646\u0647 \u0627\u0634\u0628\u0647 \u0627\u0635\u062d\u0627\u0628\u0649 \u0628\u0649 \u062e\u0644\u0642\u0627 (\u0637\u0628 \u0639\u0646 \u0639\u0628\u062f \u0627\u0644\u0631\u062d\u0645\u0646 \u0628\u0646 \u0639\u062b\u0645\u0627\u0646 \u0627\u0644\u0642\u0631\u0634\u0649)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rasulullah \ufdfa advised her: \u201cO my daughter! Treat Abu \u2018Abdullah well, for he resembles me in character the most.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We learn from here the deep affection and love Rasulullah \ufdfa had for his daughter, that he would visit her often. Moreover, we see the harmony between the spouses and the service she offered to her husband which is a teaching of Islam that the wife should serve the husband well. We also realise the strong bond Rasulullah \ufdfa had with \u2018Uthman RA declaring in his favour that he resembles him the most in character.
