{"id":9142,"date":"2014-03-27T08:18:13","date_gmt":"2014-03-27T06:18:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev.radioislam.org.za\/wordpress\/2014\/03\/27\/hummus-recipe-270314\/"},"modified":"2014-03-27T08:18:13","modified_gmt":"2014-03-27T06:18:13","slug":"hummus-recipe-270314","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radioislam.org.za\/a\/hummus-recipe-270314\/","title":{"rendered":"Hummus recipe (27.03.14)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div align=\"justify\" style=\"font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 12px\">\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\" style=\"font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 12px\">1 can of chickpeas ( keep aside a few whole chickpeas)<br \/>&frac14;&nbsp; cup liquid from can of chickpeas<br \/>3-5 tablespoons lemon juice (depending on taste)<br \/>1 &frac12;&nbsp; tablespoons tahini<br \/>2 cloves garlic, crushed( authentic Lebanese recipe doesn&#39;t include garlic so use according to yr taste)<br \/>&frac12;&nbsp; teaspoon salt<br \/>2 tablespoons olive oil<br \/>Ground cumin to taste<\/p>\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><br \/>Drain chickpeas and set aside liquid from can. Combine remaining ingredients in blender or food processor. Add &frac14;&nbsp; cup of liquid from chickpeas. Blend&nbsp; on low until thoroughly mixed and smooth. Place in serving bowl, and create a shallow well in the center of the hummus. Add a small amount (1-2 tablespoons) of olive oil in the well. Garnish with parsley &amp; a few reserved chickpeas (optional). Serve&nbsp; with fresh, warm or toasted pita bread , baba ganoush &amp; crudit&eacute;s as part of a mezze .
