ActionSA Wishes Tshwane Councillor \u2018Senior Leader\u2019 Well in Move to DA.<\/p><\/div>\n

A senior councillor from ActionSA, Novena Pillay, has officially resigned from the party and joined the Democratic Alliance (DA) in Tshwane. She cited frustrations with her former party\u2019s alleged neglect of minority communities.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Radio Islam International<\/a>, DA MP Crezane Bosch revealed the reasons behind Pillay\u2019s decision, describing it as \u201ca work in progress for months.\u201d Pillay, representing the Eshteris community, reportedly felt silenced when voicing concerns about the lack of attention to coloured and Indian communities.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was vocal during joint caucus meetings, even when the DA and ActionSA were in government together. Yet, her concerns were brushed aside, and she was effectively told there\u2019s the door if she didn\u2019t like it,\u201d said Bosch.<\/p>\n

Pillay also accused ActionSA of fostering a culture of bullying and discrimination. \u201cThe response from ActionSA leadership validates her claims. They failed to recognize her contributions as a community leader and disregarded the voices of minority groups,\u201d Bosch added.<\/p>\n

ActionSA, however, downplayed Pillay\u2019s position within the party, denying her seniority and disputing claims of marginalization. Bosch countered this, emphasizing Pillay\u2019s years of dedication: \u201cShe\u2019s been a strong leader in Eshteris since 2011, advocating tirelessly for her community.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pillay\u2019s move marks a significant win for the DA. \u201cWith her joining, we can strengthen our branches in Eshteris and Lordiam, grow our support, and address pressing community issues,\u201d Bosch said.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead to the 2026 elections, Bosch is optimistic about securing an outright majority in key regions. \u201cIn the past, fragmented votes among parties like ActionSA only hurt the residents. By uniting under the DA, we can better prioritize community interests.\u201d<\/p>\n

ActionSA\u2019s silence on the matter has not gone unnoticed, with critics pointing to deeper issues within the party\u2019s internal dynamics. As the political landscape shifts, all eyes are on how both parties will navigate this development.<\/p>\n
