Tawheed \u2013 Oneness of Allah \ufdfb<\/strong><\/p>\n

Having tried to gain a basic understanding of the word Rabb and what it actually means, we will now focus on the various ways in which Allah \ufdfb nurtures us.<\/p>\n

The one way in which we are in great desperation of, is Spiritual Nurturing, and thus over the next couple of days, we will endeavour to unpack how this nurturing takes place, in sha Allah.<\/p>\n

Understanding how Allah nurtures us through Tawheed (the Oneness of Allah) is crucial to deepening our faith and our connection with Him. Tawheed is not just a theological concept; it is a living reality that shapes every aspect of our existence. It affects how we see the world, how we handle struggles, and how we find true peace.<\/p>\n

  1. Tawheed and Rabb: Understanding the Connection<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    What is Tawheed? <\/em>Tawheed means believing that Allah is One and has no partners in His Lordship, Worship and Names & Attributes.<\/p>\n

    What is Rabb?<\/em><\/p>\n

    The name “Rabb” means the One who creates, sustains, nurtures, and guides. It is closely linked to Tawheed because:<\/p>\n

    If Allah alone is Rabb, then only He nurtures, provides, and controls everything. Tawheed is not just about knowing that Allah exists; it\u2019s about knowing how He takes care of every part of your life.<\/em><\/p>\n

    1. How My Rabb Nurtures Me Through Tawheed<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      It is best to understand it through the three branches of Tawheed:<\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Tawheed Ar-Ruboobiyyah (Oneness of Lordship) \u2013 My Rabb Controls Everything<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        This aspect of Tawheed means that Allah alone is the Creator, Sustainer, and Controller of the universe. No one else shares this power.<\/p>\n

        How does this nurture me?<\/p>\n

          \n
        • It relieves my anxiety \u2013 Nothing happens without His wisdom. My Rabb is always in control.<\/li>\n
        • It gives me confidence \u2013 My success does not depend on people but on my Rabb.<\/li>\n
        • It makes me grateful \u2013 Every blessing I have is from Him alone.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Imagine a child who is afraid of the dark. If their parent holds their hand and says, “I am here, don\u2019t be afraid,” the child feels safe. Similarly, knowing that Allah alone controls everything gives us peace in uncertain times.<\/p>\n

          1. Tawheed Al-Uloohiyyah (Oneness of Worship) \u2013 My Rabb Teaches Me to Rely Only on Him<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            This aspect of Tawheed means that only Allah deserves our worship, love, and obedience.<\/p>\n

            How does this nurture me?<\/p>\n

              \n
            • It frees me from seeking validation from others \u2013 I don\u2019t need to please society; I need to please my Rabb.<\/li>\n
            • It teaches me sincerity \u2013 My actions are for Allah, not for show.<\/li>\n
            • It gives me inner peace \u2013 I trust only in Allah, not in people or material things.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              Imagine a person who is always trying to impress others. They get stressed, anxious, and never feel satisfied. But when they shift their focus to pleasing only Allah, they feel relieved and at peace.<\/p>\n

              1. Tawheed Al-Asmaa’ wa Sifaat (Oneness of Names & Attributes) \u2013 My Rabb Nurtures Me with His Perfect Qualities<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                This aspect of Tawheed means that Allah\u2019s names and attributes are unique, perfect, and beyond human comparison.<\/p>\n

                How does this nurture me?<\/p>\n

                  \n
                • It gives me comfort \u2013 My Rabb is Ar-Rahman (The Most Merciful), so He forgives my mistakes.<\/li>\n
                • It makes me feel valued \u2013 My Rabb is Al-Wadud (The Most Loving), so I am never unloved.<\/li>\n
                • It gives me hope \u2013 My Rabb is Al-Fattah (The One Who Opens Doors), so I always have new opportunities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  Imagine someone who has been abandoned by people they trusted. They feel alone – until they remember Allah is Al-Wali (The Protective Friend), and He will never abandon them.<\/p>\n

                    \n
                  1. What Happens If We Ignore Tawheed in Our Nurturing?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                    When people don\u2019t properly recognize Tawheed, they lose the benefits of their Rabb\u2019s nurturing:<\/p>\n

                    \u274c Without Tawheed people feel lost<\/em>,<\/p>\n

                      \n
                    • They believe in “luck” instead of trusting Allah.<\/li>\n
                    • They feel helpless when facing difficulties.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                      \u274c Without Tawheed people become slaves to the world,<\/em><\/p>\n

                        \n
                      • They constantly seek approval from others.<\/li>\n
                      • They worship money, fame, or power instead of Allah.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                        \u274c Without Tawheed people feel alone and hopeless<\/em><\/p>\n

                          \n
                        • They think no one understands them.<\/li>\n
                        • They doubt Allah\u2019s mercy and lose hope in Him.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
