Offering Social Protection<\/strong><\/p>\n

Islam is a comprehensive way of life that nurtures not only individual spirituality but also social well-being. One of the fundamental aspects of how Allah \ufdfb nurtures us socially is by offering social protection \u2014 a system that ensures justice, care for the vulnerable, and safeguards human dignity.<\/p>\n

Allah \ufdfb commands society to protect the poor, orphans, widows, the oppressed, and the needy while establishing laws that maintain security, fairness, and harmony among people. Through the Holy Qur\u2019an and the Sunnah, Allah \ufdfb provides guidance on social protection by instituting charity (Zakat and Sadaqah), justice, rights of workers, family support, and care for marginalized communities.<\/p>\n

  1. Social Protection through Charity (Zakat & Sadaqah)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    One of the greatest means of social protection in Islam is Zakat (obligatory charity) and Sadaqah (voluntary charity), which ensure that the poor, orphans, and needy receive support.<\/p>\n

    “Charity is for the poor, the needy, those employed to collect it, those whose hearts need reconciliation, for freeing captives, for those in debt, for the cause of Allah, and for travellers in need\u2014this is an obligation from Allah.” (At-Tawbah 9: 60)<\/p>\n

    The Prophet \ufdfa said:<\/p>\n

    “The upper hand (giving) is better than the lower hand (receiving). Begin with those who are under your care.” (Muslim 1034)<\/p>\n

    1. Social Protection for Orphans and the Weak<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Islam places great emphasis on protecting orphans, who are among the most vulnerable members of society. Caring for orphans is a direct path to earning Allah\u2019s mercy and reward.<\/p>\n

      “So as for the orphan, do not oppress him.” (Ad-Duha 93: 9)<\/p>\n

      The Prophet (\ufdfa) said:<\/p>\n

      “I and the one who takes care of an orphan will be together in Paradise like this,” and he held his two fingers close together. (Bukhari 5304)<\/p>\n

      The Prophet \ufdfa himself was an orphan, showing the importance of compassion and protection for the weak.<\/p>\n

      1. Social Protection for Women (Widows, Divorced, and Vulnerable Women)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        In many societies, widows, divorced women, and vulnerable women suffer neglect and injustice. Islam protects their rights, ensuring they are supported economically, socially, and emotionally.<\/p>\n

        “And those who harm believing men and believing women undeservedly bear upon themselves a slander and manifest sin.” (Al-Ahzab 33: 58)<\/p>\n

        The Prophet (\ufdfa) said:<\/p>\n

        “The one who strives to help widows and the poor is like the one who fights in the way of Allah or like the one who fasts all day and prays all night.” (Bukhari 5353, Muslim 2982)<\/p>\n

        Islam forbids oppression and injustice against women and ensures their financial and social security. Marrying widows and supporting divorced women were practices encouraged by the Prophet \ufdfa.<\/p>\n

        1. Social Protection through Family Support<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Family is the foundation of social protection in Islam. Allah commands us to care for our parents, children, and relatives to build a strong and supportive society.<\/p>\n

          \u0648\u064e\u0628\u0650\u0671\u0644\u0652\u0648\u064e\u0670\u0644\u0650\u062f\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0646\u0650 \u0625\u0650\u062d\u0652\u0633\u064e\u0670\u0646\u064b\u0627<\/strong><\/p>\n

          “And be kind to parents.” (Al-Isra 17: 23)<\/p>\n

          The Prophet (\ufdfa) said: “The best of you is the best to his family, and I am the best to my family.” (Sunan Ibn Majah 1977)<\/p>\n

          Islam\u2019s Comprehensive Social Protection System<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

          Allah nurtures us socially by ensuring no one is abandoned, neglected, or mistreated. Islam offers protection through:<\/em><\/p>\n

          • Zakat and Sadaqah \u2013 Supporting the poor and needy.<\/em><\/li>\n
          • Orphan Care \u2013 Ensuring the rights and dignity of orphans.<\/em><\/li>\n
          • Protection for Women \u2013 Giving widows and vulnerable women security.<\/em><\/li>\n
          • Justice and Fairness \u2013 Establishing a system free of oppression.<\/em><\/li>\n
          • Family Support \u2013 Strengthening bonds for lifelong security.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            By following Allah\u2019s guidance, we can create a fair, compassionate, and protective society where everyone is cared for, protected, and respected.<\/em><\/p>\n
