Reminder of the Temporary Nature of Life<\/strong><\/p>\n

Life is full of both joys and trials, but ultimately, everything in this world is temporary. Allah \ufdfb, in His infinite wisdom, nurtures us through challenges to remind us that this life is not the final destination. Trials serve as a wake-up call, shifting our focus from worldly attachments to the eternal life of the Hereafter.<\/p>\n

Many people become deeply engrossed in the pursuit of wealth, status, or comfort, forgetting that all worldly blessings and hardships are fleeting. Allah \ufdfb sends trials as a way of detaching our hearts from the dunya (world) and directing them toward the Akhirah (Hereafter).<\/p>\n

  1. The Temporary Nature of Life in Islam<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Allah \ufdfb repeatedly reminds us in the Holy Qur\u2019an that this world is not our permanent home. It is a place of tests, and its pleasures and hardships will all fade away.<\/p>\n

    1. This Life is a Deception<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Allah \ufdfb describes the fleeting nature of the world in Surah Al-Hadid:<\/p>\n

        Allah \ufdfb compares life to a short moment, emphasizing its transience in Surah Yunus:<\/p>\n

        “The example of the worldly life is like rain which We have sent down from the sky that mixes with the vegetation of the earth, from which men and cattle eat\u2014until, when the earth has taken on its adornment and is beautified, and its people think they have control over it, Our command comes by night or by day, and We make it as a harvested field, as if it had never flourished before…” (Qur\u2019an 10: 24)<\/p>\n

        Just as fields grow lush with rain and then wither, life seems abundant but disappears quickly. Trials help detach us from over-reliance on temporary pleasures.<\/p>\n

        1. How Trials Remind Us of Life\u2019s Shortness<\/strong><\/li>\n
        2. Loss of Wealth and Status<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Many people become attached to money and power, believing it defines their success. Allah \ufdfb tests us by taking these things away to remind us that nothing is permanent. The story of Qarun in Surah Al-Qasas illustrates this:<\/p>\n

          “So We caused the earth to swallow him and his home, and he had no one to help him against Allah, nor was he of those who could defend themselves.” (Qur\u2019an 28: 81)<\/p>\n

          1. Sickness and Death<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            When we fall ill, we realize how weak we truly are. Even the strongest people cannot escape death. Allah \ufdfb reminds us in Surah Al-Ankabut:<\/p>\n

            “Every soul will taste death, then to Us you will be returned.” (Qur\u2019an 29: 57)<\/p>\n

            Sickness and aging remind us that life is fragile and temporary.<\/p>\n

            Lessons We Learn from These Trials<\/strong><\/p>\n

            1. Prioritize the Akhirah (Hereafter)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
                \n
              • Trials push us to seek what is eternal.<\/li>\n
              • Allah says in Surah Al-A\u2019la:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                “But you prefer the worldly life, while the Hereafter is better and everlasting.” (Qur\u2019an 87: 16-17)<\/p>\n

                  • Hardships detach us from materialism and turn our hearts toward Allah.<\/li>\n
                  • They remind us not to take blessings for granted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                    1. Be Grateful for Every Moment<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                      • The Prophet \ufdfa said:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                        “Take advantage of five before five: your youth before old age, your health before sickness, your wealth before poverty, your free time before being busy, and your life before death.” (Sunan al-Tirmidhi 2304)<\/p>\n
