Allah Ta\u2019ala looks at the spirit of the Qurbani:<\/p>\n

Thus have we subjected them to you that you may glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and give good tidings to the doers of good.\u201d<\/em> [Surah Al-Hajj 22: 37]<\/p>\n Allah Ta\u2019ala wants Taqwa from us.<\/p>\n We have to bring this Qurbani to life. We have to bring the spirit and reality into our Qurbani.<\/p>\n To revive the spirit of Qurbani within us, we have to learn the history of Qurbani.<\/p>\n Qurbani was a practice from the time of Hazrat Adam (\u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0633\u0644\u0627\u0645) and was in the Shari\u2019ah of every Nabi (\u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0633\u0644\u0627\u0645) thereafter. However, the Qurbani that is known to us is the Qurbani of Sayyidina Ibraheem (\u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0633\u0644\u0627\u0645)<\/p>\n The Sahabah ((\u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647\u0645 asked Nabi \ufdfa \u201cO Rasulullah, what is Qurbani?\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n He \ufdfa replied: \u201cIt is the Sunnah of your father, lbraheem (\u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0633\u0644\u0627\u0645) \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n They (RA) asked: \u201cWhat benefit do we derive from it?\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n He \ufdfa answered: \u201cA reward for every hair (of the sacrificed animal).\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n \u201cAnd (what reward is there for animals with) wool, O Rasulullah?\u201d they (RA) asked. <\/em><\/p>\n \u201cHe \ufdfa said, \u201ca reward for every fibre of the wool.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n During the Hajjatul Wadaa\u2019, Nabi \ufdfa slaughtered one hundred camels, of which, sixty-three camels, were slaughtered with his own Mubarak hands. Thirty-seven camels were given to Hadhrat Ali (RA) to slaughter.<\/p>\n When Nabi was on a journey and the days of Qurbani commenced, then although it is not Waajib (obligatory) upon a traveller to offer Qurbani, Nabi \ufdfa would carry out the Qurbani.<\/p>\n When Nabi was in Madinah Munawwarah, then as soon as the Khutbah of the Eid Salaah was completed, he would immediately proceed to slaughter his animal. He \ufdfa attached so much of importance to Qurbani and never missed it.<\/p>\n Qurbani is not about arguing with people over the price of an animal, then slaughtering one, or sending the money away to a poor country and saying: \u201cMy Qurbani is done.\u201d<\/p>\n What kind of Qurbani is that? <\/strong><\/p>\n Let us consider this, if, due to circumstance, a person requests someone to perform Hajje-Badal on his behalf, every Mufti will say that his Hajj is complete. However, will the person know, himself, of the experience of Tawaaf, Sa\u2019ee, of being present in Mina, Arafat, Muzdalifah? \u2026No. He will not know the taste of the experience of Hajj or the enjoyment, standing at the Roudha-e-Mubarak and sending Salaat and Salaam to Nabi \ufdfa.<\/p>\n Another example, from a worldly view: If a person owns a timeshare and he sends his family to enjoy the comforts and facilities of the timeshare, but does not go himself, then they will enjoy the beautiful scenery, the beach, the fresh air, etc. and the timeshare will be used, but he, the owner, will not get the benefit of it. Similarly, we have to be involved with Qurbani, and carry it out properly, in order to draw the full benefits. Otherwise, just sitting in a comfortable air-conditioned office and depositing the money for one\u2019s Qurbani is depriving oneself of the great benefits. This is not the spirit of Qurbani!<\/p>\n The true spirit of Qurbani is the spirit of Hadhrat Ibraheem (AS). Allah Ta\u2019ala instructed him to slaughter his son. The father then conveyed the Command of Allah Ta\u2019ala to Isma\u2019eel AS<\/p>\n \u0641\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0645\u0651\u064e\u0627 \u0628\u064e\u0644\u064e\u063a\u064e \u0645\u064e\u0639\u064e\u0647\u064f \u0671\u0644\u0633\u0651\u064e\u0639\u0652\u0649\u064e \u0642\u064e\u0627\u0644\u064e \u064a\u064e\u0640\u0670\u0628\u064f\u0646\u064e\u0649\u0651\u064e \u0625\u0650\u0646\u0651\u0650\u0649\u0653 \u0623\u064e\u0631\u064e\u0649\u0670 \u0641\u0650\u0649 \u0671\u0644\u0652\u0645\u064e\u0646\u064e\u0627\u0645\u0650 \u0623\u064e\u0646\u0651\u0650\u0649\u0653 \u0623 \u0623\u064e\u0630\u0652\u0628\u064e\u062d\u064f\u0643\u064e \u0641\u064e\u0671\u0646\u0638\u064f\u0631\u0652 \u0645\u064e\u0627\u0630\u064e\u0627 \u062a\u064e\u0631\u064e\u0649\u0670<\/strong><\/p>\n When he reached the age to work with him, Ibrahim said to him: “O my son! I have seen a vision that I should offer you as a sacrifice, now tell me what is your view.” [Surah As- Saffaat 37: 102]<\/p>\n Hadhrat Ibraheem AS was not making Mashwarah with his son. He was testing his son, to gauge the level of his Imaan and the degree of his submission. It was then that Isma`eel AS gave that heart rendering answer which is the real spirit of Qurbani.<\/p>\n \u0642\u064e\u0627\u0644\u064e \u064a\u064e\u0640\u0670\u0653\u0623\u064e\u0628\u064e\u062a\u0650 \u0671\u0641\u0652\u0639\u064e\u0644\u0652 \u0645\u064e\u0627 \u062a\u064f\u0624\u0652\u0645\u064e\u0631\u064f \u06d6 \u0633\u064e\u062a\u064e\u062c\u0650\u062f\u064f\u0646\u0650\u0649\u0653 \u0625\u0650\u0646 \u0634\u064e\u0627\u0653\u0621\u064e \u0671\u0644\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0647\u064f \u0645\u0650\u0646\u064e \u0671\u0644\u0635\u0651\u064e\u0640\u0670\u0628\u0650\u0631\u0650\u064a\u0646\u064e<\/strong><\/p>\n He replied: “O my father! Do as you are commanded: you will find me, if Allah so wills, of the patient.” [Surah As-Saffaat 37: 102]<\/p>\n The father laid his son down to slaughter and just as he was about to cut, Allah replaced the son with a ram, and he slaughtered the ram.<\/p>\n \u0641\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0645\u0651\u064e\u0627\u0653 \u0623\u064e\u0633\u0652\u0644\u064e\u0645\u064e\u0627 \u0648\u064e\u062a\u064e\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0647\u064f\u06e5 \u0644\u0650\u0644\u0652\u062c\u064e\u0628\u0650\u064a\u0646\u0650 \u0648\u064e\u0646\u064e\u0640\u0670\u062f\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0646\u064e\u0640\u0670\u0647\u064f \u0623\u064e\u0646 \u064a\u064e\u0640\u0670\u0653\u0625\u0650\u0628\u0652\u0631\u064e\u0670\u0647\u0650\u064a\u0645\u064f \u0642\u064e\u062f\u0652 \u0635\u064e\u062f\u0651\u064e\u0642\u0652\u062a\u064e \u0671\u0644\u0631\u0651\u064f\u0621\u0652\u064a\u064e\u0627\u0653 \u06da \u0625\u0650\u0646\u0651\u064e\u0627 \u0643\u064e\u0630\u064e\u0670\u0644\u0650\u0643\u064e \u0646\u064e\u062c\u0652\u0632\u0650\u0649 \u0671\u0644\u0652\u0645\u064f\u062d\u0652\u0633\u0650\u0646\u0646\u0650\u064a\u0646\u064e<\/strong><\/p>\n And when they both submitted to Allah and Ibrahim laid down his son prostrate upon his forehead for sacrifice; We called out to him: “O Ibrahim! You have fulfilled your vision.” Thus do We reward the righteous. [Surah As-Saffaat 37: 103 -105]<\/p>\n He had passed the test. The Malaa\u2019ikah witnessed this scene that made the Arsh, the heavens and the earth move. This is the spirit of Qurbani.
