We commence by looking at his relationship with ALLAH.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Title of Khalilullah<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Among the many titles and honours given to the Prophets AS in the Qur\u2019an, few are as profound and intimate as the title \u201cKhal\u012blull\u0101h\u201d\u2014 the Friend of Allah \ufdfb. This unique title was bestowed upon Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him), a man whose unwavering faith, obedience, and love for his Lord elevated him to one of the highest spiritual stations in human history. His being called the Friend of Allah is not merely a title, but a reflection of the deep and abiding relationship he had with his Creator.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Qur\u2019anic Declaration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Qur\u2019an explicitly mentions this noble title in Surah An-Nis\u0101\u2019:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u0648\u064e\u0645\u064e\u0646\u0652 \u0623\u064e\u062d\u0652\u0633\u064e\u0646\u064f \u062f\u0650\u064a\u0646\u064b\u0627 \u0645\u0651\u0650\u0645\u0651\u064e\u0646\u0652 \u0623\u064e\u0633\u0652\u0644\u064e\u0645\u064e \u0648\u064e\u062c\u0652\u0647\u064e\u0647\u064f\u06e5 \u0644\u0650\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0647\u0650 \u0648\u064e\u0647\u064f\u0648\u064e \u0645\u064f\u062d\u0652\u0633\u0650\u0646\u064c \u0648\u064e\u0671\u062a\u0651\u064e\u0628\u064e\u0639\u064e \u0645\u0650\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0629\u064e \u0625\u0650\u0628\u0652\u0631\u064e\u0670\u0647\u0650\u064a\u0645\u064e \u062d\u064e\u0646\u0650\u064a\u0641\u064b\u0627 \u06d7 \u0648\u064e\u0671\u062a\u0651\u064e\u062e\u064e\u0630\u064e \u0671\u0644\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0647\u064f \u0625\u0650\u0628\u0652\u0631\u064e\u0670\u0647\u0650\u064a\u0645\u064e \u062e\u064e\u0644\u0650\u064a\u0644\u064b\u0627<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd who is better in religion than one who submits himself to Allah while being a doer of good and follows the religion of Ibrahim, inclining toward truth? And Allah took Ibrahim as an intimate friend (Khalil).\u201d An-Nis\u0101\u2019 (4: 125)<\/p>\n<p>The Arabic word \u201cKhalil\u201d denotes a close and sincere friend \u2014 one whose bond is based on loyalty, love, and deep trust. In Islamic tradition, only two individuals have been honoured with this title: Prophet Muhammad \ufdfa and Prophet Ibrahim (AS). This status is not merely honorary \u2014 it reflects the essence of Ibrahim AS\u2019s spiritual life.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Foundations of Divine Friendship<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ibrahim (AS) achieved this closeness to Allah through a series of defining qualities and experiences that displayed his absolute submission and trust.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><em> Unwavering Faith in Trials<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Ibrahim\u2019s (AS) life was filled with trials that would test the limits of any human being. From being cast into fire for rejecting idol worship, to leaving his wife H\u0101jar RA and infant son Ismail in the barren desert of Makkah, and even to the command of sacrificing his beloved son \u2014 every test was met with firm belief and immediate submission.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd [mention] when Ibrahim was tested by his Lord with commands and he fulfilled them. Allah said, \u2018Indeed, I will make you a leader for the people.\u2019\u201d Al-Baqarah (2: 124)<\/p>\n<p>His ability to fulfil every divine command with sincerity was a sign of his complete devotion and trust, qualities that define a true friend of Allah.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><em> A Heart Pure of Shirk (Association)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Ibrahim (AS) is the ultimate example of Taw\u1e25\u012bd (monotheism). From a young age, he rejected all forms of idol worship and rationally and spiritually searched for the one true God.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndeed, Ibrahim was a nation unto himself, devoutly obedient to Allah, inclining toward truth, and he was not of those who associate others with Allah.\u201d An-Na\u1e25l (16: 120)<\/p>\n<p>His heart was completely free of worldly attachments or partners with Allah. This purity made him worthy of an intimate bond with the Creator.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><em> Consistent Devotion and Du\u2018\u0101<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Throughout his life, Ibrahim (AS) constantly turned to Allah in prayer and supplication, not just for himself but for future generations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing.\u201d Al-Baqarah (2: 127)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur Lord, make us submissive to You and from our descendants a Muslim nation.\u201d Al-Baqarah (2:128)<\/p>\n<p>These prayers show not only a deep spiritual relationship, but also concern for the spiritual well-being of all humanity \u2014 a sign of sincere love for Allah and His purpose.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What It Means to Be the Friend of Allah<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Being the \u201cFriend of Allah\u201d (Khal\u012blull\u0101h) means that Allah loves and protects Ibrahim (AS), that his prayers are accepted, and that he has a closeness that most humans cannot imagine.<\/p>\n<p>The Prophet Muhammad \ufdfa once said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAllah took me as His Khalil, just as He took Ibrahim as His Khalil.\u201d (Sahih Muslim, Hadith 532)<\/p>\n<p>This special relationship is built on unconditional submission, perfect sincerity, and unceasing remembrance. A Khalil of Allah places nothing above Allah \u2014 not wealth, family, or even personal safety.
