His mission began in a society deeply entrenched in idol worship and superstition. Despite being born into this environment, he developed an acute awareness of the Oneness of Allah and dedicated his life to guiding his people to the truth. His relationship with his people was marked by concern, compassion, confrontation, and, ultimately, estrangement due to their persistent rejection of his message.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Calling to Taw\u1e25\u012bd (Oneness of Allah)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>From a young age, Ibrahim (AS) observed the sun, moon, and stars \u2014 initially questioning if these celestial bodies were divine. But he soon realized their setting and disappearance proved they could not be gods. This spiritual journey is described in Surah Al-An\u2018\u0101m:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u0641\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0645\u0651\u064e\u0627 \u062c\u064e\u0646\u0651\u064e \u0639\u064e\u0644\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0647\u0650 \u0671\u0644\u0651\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0644\u064f \u0631\u064e\u0621\u064e\u0627 \u0643\u064e\u0648\u0652\u0643\u064e\u0628\u064b\u06ed\u0627 \u06d6 \u0642\u064e\u0627\u0644\u064e \u0647\u064e\u0640\u0670\u0630\u064e\u0627 \u0631\u064e\u0628\u0651\u0650\u0649 \u06d6 \u0641\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0645\u0651\u064e\u0622 \u0623\u064e\u0641\u064e\u0644\u064e \u0642\u064e\u0627\u0644\u064e \u0644\u064e\u0622 \u0623\u064f\u062d\u0650\u0628\u0651\u064f \u0671\u0644\u0652\u0621\u064e\u0627\u0641\u0650\u0644\u0650\u064a\u0646\u064e<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen the night covered him, he saw a star and said, \u2018This is my Lord.\u2019 But when it set, he said, \u2018I do not like those that disappear.\u2019\u201d Al-An\u2018\u0101m (6: 76)<\/p>\n<p>This personal discovery formed the basis of his da\u02bfwah (invitation) to his people \u2014 a call to worship the unseen Creator, not lifeless idols.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Direct Confrontation with His People<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ibrahim (AS) directly questioned the logic of idol worship, speaking boldly to his community:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u0625\u0650\u0630\u0652 \u0642\u064e\u0627\u0644\u064e \u0644\u0650\u0623\u064e\u0628\u0650\u064a\u0647\u0650 \u0648\u064e\u0642\u064e\u0648\u0652\u0645\u0650\u0647\u0650\u06e6 \u0645\u064e\u0627 \u062a\u064e\u0639\u0652\u0628\u064f\u062f\u064f\u0648\u0646\u064e \u2022 \u0642\u064e\u0627\u0644\u064f\u0648\u0627\u06df \u0646\u064e\u0639\u0652\u0628\u064f\u062f\u064f \u0623\u064e\u0635\u0652\u0646\u064e\u0627\u0645\u064b\u06ed\u0627 \u0641\u064e\u0646\u064e\u0638\u064e\u0644\u0651\u064f \u0644\u064e\u0647\u064e\u0627 \u0639\u064e\u0640\u0670\u0643\u0650\u0641\u0650\u064a\u0646\u064e \u2022 \u0642\u064e\u0627\u0644\u064e \u0647\u064e\u0644\u0652 \u064a\u064e\u0633\u0652\u0645\u064e\u0639\u064f\u0648\u0646\u064e\u0643\u064f\u0645\u0652 \u0625\u0650\u0630\u0652 \u062a\u064e\u062f\u0652\u0639\u064f\u0648\u0646\u064e \u2022 \u0623\u064e\u0648\u0652 \u064a\u064e\u0646\u0641\u064e\u0639\u064f\u0648\u0646\u064e\u0643\u064f\u0645\u0652 \u0623\u064e\u0648\u0652 \u064a\u064e\u0636\u064f\u0631\u0651\u064f\u0648\u0646\u064e<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen he said to his father and his people, \u2018What is it that you worship?\u2019 They said, \u2018We worship idols and remain devoted to them.\u2019 He said, \u2018Do they hear you when you call on them? Or do they benefit you or harm you?\u2019\u201d Ash-Shu\u02bfar\u0101\u2019 (26: 70\u201373)<\/p>\n<p>This logical challenge exposed the futility of their beliefs. Yet, rather than reflect and reform, his people became angry and defensive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Breaking of the Idols<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a dramatic public gesture, Ibrahim (AS) smashed the idols in the temple, leaving only the largest one. When questioned, he cleverly pointed to the remaining idol:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u0642\u064e\u0627\u0644\u064e \u0628\u064e\u0644\u0652 \u0641\u064e\u0639\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0647\u064f\u06e5 \u0643\u064e\u0628\u0650\u064a\u0631\u064f\u0647\u064f\u0645\u0652 \u0647\u064e\u0640\u0670\u0630\u064e\u0627 \u0641\u064e\u0633\u0652\u0640\u0654\u064e\u0644\u064f\u0648\u0647\u064f\u0645\u0652 \u0625\u0650\u0646 \u0643\u064e\u0627\u0646\u064f\u0648\u0627\u06df \u064a\u064e\u0646\u0637\u0650\u0642\u064f\u0648\u0646\u064e<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe said, \u2018Rather, this \u2014 the biggest of them \u2014 did it. So ask them, if they can speak!\u2019\u201d Al-Anbiy\u0101\u2019 (21: 63)<\/p>\n<p>This act was not just symbolic; it was a clear demonstration of the powerlessness of the idols and a plea for his people to awaken from their delusions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Response: Rejection and Punishment<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Instead of accepting the truth, his people plotted to kill him. They built a massive fire and threw him into it. But Allah protected him with a miracle:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u0642\u064f\u0644\u0652\u0646\u064e\u0627 \u064a\u064e\u0640\u0670\u0646\u064e\u0627\u0631\u064f \u0643\u064f\u0648\u0646\u0650\u0649 \u0628\u064e\u0631\u0652\u062f\u064b\u06ed\u0627 \u0648\u064e\u0633\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0640\u0670\u0645\u064b\u0627 \u0639\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0649\u0670\u0653 \u0625\u0650\u0628\u0652\u0631\u064e\u0670\u0647\u0650\u064a\u0645\u064e<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe said, \u2018O fire, be coolness and safety upon Abraham.\u2019\u201d Al-Anbiy\u0101\u2019 (21: 69)<\/p>\n<p>This moment reflects both the cruelty of his people and the divine protection for those who stand firm in faith.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Persistent Rejection, Yet Unshaken Resolve<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Even after the miracle, his people remained stubborn. Ibrahim (AS), though disappointed, never responded with hatred. He continued to pray for them and even for his father \u2014 until Allah commanded him to stop once it became clear his father would persist in disbelief.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u0648\u064e\u0645\u064e\u0627 \u0643\u064e\u0627\u0646\u064e \u0671\u0633\u0652\u062a\u0650\u063a\u0652\u0641\u064e\u0627\u0631\u064f \u0625\u0650\u0628\u0652\u0631\u064e\u0670\u0647\u0650\u064a\u0645\u064e \u0644\u0650\u0623\u064e\u0628\u0650\u064a\u0647\u0650 \u0625\u0650\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0627 \u0639\u064e\u0646 \u0645\u0651\u064e\u0648\u0652\u0639\u0650\u062f\u064e\u0629\u064d\u06e2 \u0648\u064e\u0639\u064e\u062f\u064e\u0647\u064e\u0622 \u0625\u0650\u064a\u0651\u064e\u0627\u0647\u064f \u06d6 \u0641\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0645\u0651\u064e\u0627 \u062a\u064e\u0628\u064e\u064a\u0651\u064e\u0646\u064e \u0644\u064e\u0647\u064f\u06e5\u0653 \u0623\u064e\u0646\u0651\u064e\u0647\u064f\u06e5 \u0639\u064e\u062f\u064f\u0648\u0651\u064c\u06ed \u0644\u0651\u0650\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0647\u0650 \u062a\u064e\u0628\u064e\u0631\u0651\u064e\u0623\u064e \u0645\u0650\u0646\u0652\u0647\u064f<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd the request of forgiveness by Abraham for his father was only because of a promise he had made to him. But when it became clear to him that he was an enemy to Allah, he disassociated himself from him.\u201d At-Tawbah (9: 114)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Legacy and Lessons<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Despite rejection, Ibrahim (AS) remained compassionate, wise, and persistent. His message eventually bore fruit \u2014 not among his own people, but through his descendants. Allah honoured him as:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u0625\u0650\u0646\u0651\u064e \u0625\u0650\u0628\u0652\u0631\u064e\u0670\u0647\u0650\u064a\u0645\u064e \u0643\u064e\u0627\u0646\u064e \u0623\u064f\u0645\u0651\u064e\u0629\u064b\u06ed \u0642\u064e\u0627\u0646\u0650\u062a\u064b\u06ed\u0627 \u0644\u0651\u0650\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0647\u0650 \u062d\u064e\u0646\u0650\u064a\u0641\u064b\u06ed\u0627 \u0648\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0645\u0652 \u064a\u064e\u0643\u064f \u0645\u0650\u0646\u064e \u0671\u0644\u0652\u0645\u064f\u0634\u0652\u0631\u0650\u0643\u0650\u064a\u0646\u064e<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndeed, Ibrahim was a nation [unto himself], devoutly obedient to Allah, inclining toward truth, and he was not of the polytheists.\u201d An-Na\u1e25l (16: 120)<\/p>\n<p>Prophet Ibrahim AS\u2019s relationship with his people was one of deep concern and spiritual confrontation. He loved them enough to call them out of darkness, risked his life for their salvation, and remained patient through their rejection.
