{"id":99630,"date":"2025-08-07T10:00:09","date_gmt":"2025-08-07T08:00:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/radioislam.org.za\/a\/?p=99630"},"modified":"2025-08-06T08:25:25","modified_gmt":"2025-08-06T06:25:25","slug":"butter-chicken-akni","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radioislam.org.za\/a\/butter-chicken-akni\/","title":{"rendered":"Butter Chicken Akni"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>COURTESY PRIYA PILLAY<br \/>\n@theintrovertedbaker<\/p>\n<p>Marinade<br \/>\n3 chicken breasts<br \/>\n3 TBS yoghurt<br \/>\n2 TBS ginger and garlic<br \/>\n1 tsp turmeric<br \/>\n2 tsp masala<br \/>\nPinch of salt<br \/>\nSprinkle of Chopped dhania<\/p>\n<p>Base<br \/>\nOnion<br \/>\nJeera seed<br \/>\nAniseed<br \/>\nBayleaf<br \/>\nElachi<br \/>\nGhee<\/p>\n<p>Warm the spices in your oil and ghee<br \/>\nAdd the onion and allow to brown<br \/>\nSear off the chicken in the pan<br \/>\nOnce you&#8217;ve got a good colour on the chicken you can remove from the pan and set aside before starting the sauce<\/p>\n<p>In the same oil add in<br \/>\nHalf a Finely chopped onion<br \/>\n1 TBS Ginger and garlic<br \/>\n1 tsp turmeric<br \/>\n2 tsp masala<br \/>\n4 sprigs of thyme<br \/>\n1 stem of curry leaf<br \/>\n3 jam tomatoes blended<br \/>\n2 TBS yoghurt<br \/>\n2 tsp of aminas butter chicken spice<br \/>\n1 and a half cup to 2 cups of milk<\/p>\n<p>Soak 1 cup of basmati rice and set aside with 1 tsp turmeric, a few curry leaves and thyme. Brown the onion in the same oil and ghee. Add in your ginger and garlic Add in your turmeric, masala, thyme and curry leaf, allow to simmer for 4 minutes on low. Add in the tomatoes and allow to cook for 5 minutes<\/p>\n<p>Add in the yoghurt<br \/>\nAdd n the butter chicken spice<br \/>\nAllow to cook for 3 minutes before adding the milk<br \/>\nAdd the chicken back in and simmer for 5 minutes<\/p>\n<p>You can add in fried potatoes if you&#8217;d like as well at this point. Next you can drain your rice that has been soaking and add it to your chicken. Stir frequently to prevent sticking to the pot.
