Former President’s Jacob Zuma Arms Deal trial has been postponed to 23 February 2021.

Judge Nompulelo Radebe granted the consent order in the Pietermaritzburg high court on Tuesday.

Zuma and a representative from Thales were not in the dock.

Radebe says both were excused with the court’s permission.

Zuma and arms company Thales face corruption, money laundering and racketeering charges linked to a multibillion-rand arms deal.

Zuma who was first charged in 2005 and then later again in 2016 says the charges are politically motivated.

The former president is alleged to have received bribes from Thales via his then-financial advisor Shabir Shaik who was released on medical parole.
