Synopsis:
The tone of the book is set on the back blurb relating to scholars/Ulama being the inheritors of the Prophets, and Deen/religion being termed as advice by our beloved Prophet (pbuh). The compilation of this book began as a general advice newsletter circulated via email lists. It charts among other pertinent advices the virtues of mutual love and respect among students and their teachers; a fundamental understanding of what it means to be a ‘Deoband’ scholar, something often misconstrued and misunderstood in our times. It details ethics and practices of working in religious organisations; the value of a student of Deen; and among other gems, how madrassa syllabi are formulated & why they work. A valuable read.
