In an interview with Radio Islam International, Ncamisile Pamela Ngubane, a former spokesperson for the South African Friends of Israel, shared her journey from being an advocate for Israel to becoming a passionate supporter of the Palestinian cause.

Ngubane’s journey began when she experienced a shift in her perspective, triggered by the swearing-in of the current Israeli government. The rhetoric and actions of the government were concerning enough to prompt her to reevaluate her stance.

In her quest for understanding, Ngubane researched Palestinian history. She highlighted the necessity of seeking alternative viewpoints outside the confines of traditional sources. Her research led her to the truth about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, a revelation that was initially difficult to accept.

Ngubane is not alone in her transformation. She spoke about a growing movement of individuals who are reevaluating their support for Israel and advocating for justice and peace in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Ngubane also discussed the manipulation of sincere religious beliefs for political purposes. She emphasised that religion should be a source of unity and compassion, rather than division or support for actions that cause suffering and injustice.

As Ngubane faced backlash from her Zionist friends, she demonstrated immense courage in her commitment to truth and justice.
