ActionSA nominated a Deputy Executive Mayor of the City Of Tshwane for the first time on Monday. Dr Nasipa Moya was nominated with the support of other coalition parties. Her nomination comes just months before the country goes to the polls for the 2024 elections. Political analysts are certain that Tshwane will be one of the metros governed by coalitions following the polls.

In a discussion with Radio Islam International, ActionSA National Chairperson Micheal Beaumont pointed out that Dr Moya’s nomination is an achievement for the residents of Tshwane.

“The residents of Tshwane have a real victory,” he says.

Beaumont explains, “We would venture that the individual that we have nominated and the delegation that have been approved are fundamentally designed to address the blind spots to the service delivery benefits of the residents of Tshwane.”

Beaumont highlighted Dr Nasiphi Moya’s long distinguished background.

Dr Moya holds a PhD in Political Science and a Masters in Philosophy from the University of Cape Town.

“Dr Moya has been our head of governance, providing leadership through our caucuses across the country and formally running the performance management system for public representatives in a previous life in the Democratic Alliance, all of which renders her a candidate with a huge amount of qualifications and experience. These also position her actually to ensure that performance management effort to get the City of Tshwane and it’s department delivering to the benefits of the residents,” says Beaumont.
