Alternative uses for baby powder, shampoo and Vaseline

BABY POWDER

Keep your clothing fresh.
Place a small bowl or dish of baby powder in your closet and dresser drawers to keep your clothes from becoming stale and musty in the drawer in the closet. Your clothes will also smell fresh throughout the day.
Squeaky hardwood floors
Sprinkle baby powder on your hardwood floors to prevent squeaky floorboards. Buff the baby powder in with a buffing cloth. Your floors will squeak no more.
Having trouble untangling that knot in a necklace? Sprinkle some baby powder on the necklace and then work it apart. The powder will act as a lubricant.
Sand gets everywhere, and sticks to a person. Sprinkle baby powder over sandy, wet kids or adults, to adsorb the moisture, and then brush away the sand.
For ant problems, sprinkle some baby powder under doors were ants come in at, and along window sills. Ants will not walk through the powder.
If you get a grease stain on your shirt while cooking, dab the stain with baby powder, rub it in good, and then brush off any loose powder. Do this till the stain is gone.

SHAMPOO.

Remove bandages painlessly
Now you don't have to say "Ready?" when removing a bandage. Rub just a drop of shampoo on and around the bandage to let it seep through the air holes. It will come off with no muss and definitely no fuss.

Wash houseplant leaves
Houseplants get dusty too, but unlike furniture they need to breathe. Make a soapy solution with a few drops of shampoo in a pot of water, dunk in a cloth and wring it out, and wipe those dusty leaves clean.

Clean grimy hands
In place of soap, some straight shampoo works wonders for cleaning stubborn or sticky grime from your hands. It even works well to remove water-based paint.

Cuticles, when they harden, are tough to remove, even if you use sharp instruments. You might end up wounding your fingers. Make the job easier by soaking them in shampoo or conditioner. Shampoo’s formulation softens hair, the way it makes your cuticles tender. Once you feel them soften, extract the cuticle with ease using your cuticle remover.

Wary about your dirty car paint? Baby shampoo can remove dirt and minor stains, without damaging your paint job. Its slippery base won’t have trouble taking out those eyesores upon application. Just scrub car wax after, for an elegant sheen

Shampoo is formulated to remove oil from hair so it works perfectly to remove the dirt rings on shirt collars which are oil stains. Simply apply as you would any stain pre-treatment. This is especially handy when travelling.

Add a tablespoon of shampoo to a sink or container of warm water to soak your hair brushes and combs. Shampoo cuts through sebum oil and will leave your brushes clean and fresh.

VASELINE

Put a coat of Vaseline on your feet at night, cover them with socks and wake up to softer feet – every day

Stains remover: it removes makeup stains from clothes.

Removing Gum from your child's hair
every child has gotten gum stuck in their hair at some time. Vaseline is one of the easiest items to remove gum from the hair. Rub a gob of Vaseline through the hair near the gum. The petroleum jelly will remove the gum from your child's hair

Stretch your favourite lotion by mixing it with Vaseline
If your ring gets stuck on your finger, try rubbing the finger with Vaseline to get it off.
Just rub a little petroleum jelly on the bulb threads and you won't have to worry about it sticking in the socket
Apply petroleum jelly with a cloth to last season’s leather bag. The oil-based jelly will replace lost moisture, leaving your handbag supple and ultra glossy.
Prevent car battery corrosion

Smear Vaseline petroleum jelly on clean car battery terminals.
To keep Curtains opening easily

over time, dust and moisture can cause curtain rods, particularly shower curtain rods, to become rough. This makes curtains harder to open and close. To prevent staining of curtain rods, smooth in a thorough coating of Vaseline.
Avoid splattered paint on windows, metal work, and floors

Before painting a room, dip a cotton bud in Vaseline petroleum jelly and run it around the edges of the glass; coat door hinges, doorknobs, lock latches; and spread a thin coat of Vaseline petroleum jelly along a linoleum or tile floor (obviously not carpet) where it meets the wall. Paint smears will wipe off with a cloth

Super Glue Cap:

Often after its first use, the super glue cap ends up stuck fast to the tube and can't be used again. Put a thick coating of jelly inside the cap threads to keep it from gluing itself shut. This will work on any cap or lid that may stick.
Hair Colouring

to keep hair colour from staining your skin, apply Petroleum Jelly along hairline and ears before you begin.
Outdoor Lights

A thin coating of Petroleum Jelly on light bulb threads will prevent them from sticking when they need to be replaced.

Paint Cans

Petroleum Jelly forms an air tight seal when applied around the inside edge of the can.
